While walking with my family some time ago, I stumbled upon this mushroom growing on one of the dead sungkai trees by the roadside near our house. It caught my eye from afar, even though it only sprouted in certain parts of the tree.

Despite the warm morning weather, the sun wasn't always out all day long. Dark clouds often gathered in the sky, especially towards the evening, followed by frequent rainfall that persisted into the night.
Rainwater still lingered on the decaying tree, leaving it damp from the previous night's downpour.

This mushroom boasts a rich brown hue reminiscent of honey, darkening as it ages and decomposes. As I examined the tree's roots, I noticed the mushrooms growing along them, following to their shapes and directions. Little did I know, these mushrooms are a type of parasitic fungi that typically target weakened or dead trees, which explains their presence around the tree's roots. The mushrooms seem to take over the dead tree, even though the roots are still in the ground.
