There are a lot of reasons to be angry. Our head-clerk is usually angry (sometimes, most of the time? 😊). Even the good doctor gets angry when he sees a lot of dishonesty in the present world. The world, the educational system, the covid-19, the vaccine distribution all may seem unfair. It's true, there is no denying it. The question always remains, therefore, what are we going to focus on. We can choose to focus on despair, the gray, the lack of color. Or, we can choose the light, the bold splash of color which is the world as well.

During the early part of the 20th -century there was a movement called Fauvism in the art world. The Fauves (wild beasts) were a loosely allied group of French artists who took inspiration from the bold use of colors from certain examples of Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, and Paul Cezanne. This group of artists was led mostly by Henri Matisse, Georges Rouault, Andre Derain, Maurice de Vlaminck, and a few others. What these amazing people did was they separated color as a descriptor, instead, they chose a color to exist on the canvas as an independent element. Color, according to these painters, can represent a mood or a random structure without depicting any form as we are used to. They simplified the forms of the natural world with highly color-saturated works of art that expresses the mood of the painter. In other words, it is the expression of the artists that matter most to the Fauves.

Andre Derain said, "Colors became sticks of dynamite – they had to explode into light"

This can be best explained by Andre Derain's 1906 painting "The Turning Road". In this iconic masterpiece glowing flat-patterned shapes can be seen exploding into sprays of broken brushstrokes. The curved road, the trees and branches, and the vividly colored villagers all simmers and move in a rhythm almost with burst of colors everywhere. It is way more than a landscape. Do look at the famous painting and see if you can visualize what I am describing.

Fauves were not rich people, but they chose to look at the world differently. They were often ridiculed for their optimism. They were told, why you guys are looking at the world through the rose-colored glasses? They answered by quoting Paul Gauguin:

"If the trees look yellow to the artist, then painted a bright yellow they must be."

<center>![](https://i.imgur.com/Dvi8aSh.jpg)</center>

This is just my point of view to visualize the world, the blockchain the way we want to see it. We can focus on the negatives or we may want to paint it in bright yellow. You choose. But I have made my choice 😊.

As many mental and physical health issues are on the rise, so is the rise of awareness. It's most likely that we're always overwhelmed by either our health issues or how to get better. We want to stay better but our strenuous lifestyle and hectic schedule are making it almost impossible. A lot of mental and physical health issues can be triggered by workaholic tendency. Many of our worries can cause to trigger workaholic tendency, which in turn creates other issues; all in all, it's a vicious cycle.

There's no shortcut to healthy living and balancing everything can be too much to keep track off. Often times we get sidetracked and lose that balance; end up in the cycle of issues creating issues. Work can be exhausting, and often it takes a big chunk of our daily hours; the rest of the hours we spend on rejuvenating ourselves to go through the same rigorous work hours. Do you see the cycle? I bet you do.

We say being a workaholic can cause such and such health issues but why do we become workaholic; answer to this question we all know and don't speak much about it. Better living, career advances, dream job or simply just to gather bare necessities we tire ourselves. We forget to breathe, to calm ourselves down so that we can function with more energy. We talk about a healthy routine, but we don't prioritize it. Soon enough that same healthy routine gets chucked out from our schedule.

<center>![](https://i.imgur.com/fBon2KI.jpg)</center>

Before we start treating our mental and physical health, we have to treat the root of the problems. Being a workaholic and then trying to balance life, in general, is harder to do than to talk about, but we have to start somewhere. You can't give up your work overnight nor can you come up with a miracle calendar that can magically set your life routine. You can start by maintaining a work schedule and prioritizing your goals. If you see that you're on the right path to your destination, it will create an eagerness to take care of yourself. And you can then start with an easily manageable routine for yourself. Make sure you keep enough room for your close friends and family, don't be detached from them because their presence and absence can also cause a lot of changes within you.

<center>![Robert Bresson](https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0MZWVDlYGZY/UgKeFAmRh1I/AAAAAAAABD0/gVtIpe64rbs/w1200-h630-p-k-nu/Bresson+set.jpg)</center>

In the last Turni, I mentioned some of the notes from Robert Bresson on filmmaking. I want to pick up where I left and discuss a few more. If you haven't read the earlier issue, I'm essentially elaborating some of the notes French filmmaker Robert Bresson made during his time.

> A whole made of good images can be detestable.

This is a note he made on *LOOKS* of the film. What it implies is that the frames of a film might be overwhelming and supremely pretty to look at, but that doesn't necessarily mean it will arouse comprehension and fondness among the audience. Good looking images, where each of them are separately great, can be exhausting and detestable if they do not carry any coherent meaning.

> You shall call a fine film the one that makes you think highly of cinematography.

This statement might feel like a contradiction to the earlier one but in actuality, it's not. Cinematography is not merely shooting footage of pretty locations or artistic footage, it's the language of cinema. And as I've said in the previous Turni, to Bresson, cinematography stands for cinema/film as a whole. The statement implies that the film has to have fine tuned visual art-form.

> No absolute value in an image.

This one complements the other two statements. He implies that images have no power of their own, a great image or a great piece of music does not automatically increase the value ( for instance - a drone shot might look cool, but it doesn't do anything to the film). The value has to come from what the filmmaker assigns to those images and their collective meaning.

A recent TV ad caught my attention. In the ad, a young man was asked to build his house with cheap raw materials. In his reply he says the following.

>This house will be built with the money of my lifetime earnings, this is like the Padma Bridge to me.

However, there may be a dispute in the minds of the people whether the right material being used to build the Padma Bridge, but I am not going that way. Since it is a national establishment, we can speculate that it is being built quite strongly. The Padma Bridge is almost entirely evident today. Like the people on both sides of the river Padma, I also dream that the work of this bridge will be accomplished soon and the arrogance of the fast-flowing Padma river will be shattered.

Readers may think that I am writing this to review the Padma Bridge, but I am not; because it is not my job. But after the construction of this bridge; as a common man, I would like to affirm few expectations. Basically this question came to my mind when I went to my village home a few days ago. My hometown is only 20 kilometers away from the center of Dhaka city. Since Bangladesh is a riverine country, I have to cross three rivers to reach my hometown. The bridges over these three rivers were built almost a decade ago as a continuation of the country's evolving development. But sadly I had to cross two bridges with a good amount of toll. It is a pity that a class of people are using the word 'toll' to extort money today.

If enumerated correctly, it would be discovered that ten more such bridges could have been fabricated with the amount of money taken from the people in these ten years. A group of unscrupulous political leaders is constantly taking advantage of this opportunity. We ordinary people have become guinea pigs today. In exchange for our money, national establishments are built, and we are the victims of it afterwards.

<center>https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/740958639829024859/802935045995757579/IMG_3356.jpg</center>

History revolves around us and we have to learn from history. As the Padma Bridge is the largest establishment in our history and the fulfillment of our dreams, we can expect that a tolerable toll will be set for this bridge and most importantly, that should be stopped after a certain time. We strongly believe that people will no longer be used as guinea pigs.

#### <center>***Regret!!***</center>

###### I want to take my life!!
___
Ayan was surprised! He quite astonishingly looked at Anindo. With curiosity and with thousand questions running across his mind, he finally asked Ayan "what happened?" Ayan started crying. And, was even more shocked than being surprised! Ayan grabbed Anindo and was crying non stop. As if a baby was crying for something which he really seeks for. After consoling Ayan for a period of time, Anindo finally was able to ask what happened to his best friend.
___

![photo15723072204569555f7c6fd9b.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/rehan12/GTzbUEO0-photo-1572307220456-9555f7c6fd9b.png)

___

And was surprised by the attitude of Ayan because the Ayan he knows, was never going to let himself down over any situation. Even when it is about fighting or there is any sort of trouble between anybody, he was probably the first person to get into it and be the prime suspect of that incident. It has happened countless times. He is the strongest friend and person among his friend circle of Anindo. Ayan slowly started to talk about the incident. It was about the incident which happened few months back. He took a huge loan and is slowly being driven down due to that. Inevitably it was one of the biggest step of his life. Almost everyone who he knew, were against taking that loan. Even Anindo was against it. He invested that full amount in some sort of company. Which eventually promised a huge return for his deposited amount. He was in dire need of money and as well thought this could a quick-rich scheme for him to reach to the peak.

At that moment, while taking that loan he had no practical way to repay the installments of the bank. So it was clearly visible this could be a huge burden for him if anything goes sideways. But Ayan was so much consumed in dreams, he was not thinking practically. The unexpected thing happened! The company he invested upon, turned out to be a scam. When he found out about it, it was too late to recover his money.

The situation is so critical for Ayan, he can not face his family as this was their last piece of asset and he wasted that amount in something which was scam. His father will probably die if he gets to hear about this news. This is what happens in a middle class family. Every single penny means a lot. He was worried what to do and how to handle the situation. And was close to Ayan's family. He consoled him as much as he could and gave Ayan a suggestion. Anindo was a successful businessman. He suggested AYAN to be a partner of his business. He wanted to start a new business, which Ayan knows about and he literally then and than suggested him to take care of that project. Ayan probably thought how it would help him, as the loan would be a real burden for him to get out of. But Anindo confronted he will take care of that problem but only on few conditions.
* Tell the truth to Ayan's parents
* Ayan can not go near any sort of investment, before he clear out his debt (It was a plan to make him come to the right path)
* And be someone who will follow the religion, more than anything
___
Ayan was still crying, but he was in sort of a situation where he was not even able to discuss the situation with others. Let alone ask for help to someone. But as it is said, true friend are known in difficult times. He does regret for choosing the short path to utilize the money and is now giving the price for that. He was lucky to have a friend like Anindo or else who knows his family would have found him dead the very next day!
___
The story is completely fictional. One of the reason, of sharing this story is this kind of situations are happening in our life. Plenty of people are being scammed and losing their life, money even their family because of greed and a short passage of income. But none of this worth more than our life. Than why choose the wrong way and be a victim to it. Always ask what you are getting yourself into? How you are going to get out of it? Why you are getting into it? How much would it benefit it? The authentication of it? In short DYOR and get into something. As whatever will happen, you will be the bearer of it, and you and only you will have to face that situation alone. Better be ready than be sorry.

_Crypto is a similar place to the above situation. I myself have seen people lose money like water, just because they were reckless. If only they knew what they were doing. Let's not be on that list and join the list of successful people and be on the right track, my friends. Lets meet at the top.

!***</center>
----

This here is our piece de resistance. To promote engagement and a little self-branding, we have come up with an initiative that we simply called **Featured**. And we are very excited about this portion of the magazine.

Every week, one talented author will have the opportunity to contribute a piece for the magazine while showcasing one of their best posts. The willing writers will have a chance to add a few words about any topic they choose and be a 25% beneficiary of the magazine.

##### ***How to Get Featured***

---
The first step is, you have to decide whether you _want_ to get featured or not. Once you've made up your mind, you have to apply by submitting one of your articles from last week. We have a wiggle room for quality content if they are older than seven days. Choose the piece you deem to be your best work for the week, as this will play a significant role in you getting featured or not.

##### ***Application Window***
---
There will be a two-day period to submit your application. It must be submitted by dropping a link to your post in the #Featured-Magazine channel on the BDCommunity Discord Server.
