We published our first issue on July 30, 2020. It's been a year. When we started, the thought process was, people will write in this magazine and will be motivated to write. This regular action will improve their writing skills. Also regular writing will increase confidence as they will interact more and more with people who comment. We didn’t create the magazine to gather votes. As we only publish once a week and all earnings have stayed within the community account for the last whole year. I started the first editorial with a quote by Ursula K. Le Guin who is one of my favorite writers.. "It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters, in the end." I never thought that we would continue this long mostly because we typically run out of steam for various reasons. I have seen and was involved with multiple little magazines in my earlier life. I must say most of them were superior in quality, none had this much last power of 50 issues. So that is a personal achievement. I will try to keep this editorial short, as I rather let people read the contributors as opposed to this column. This is simply because after all a magazine is made up by the individual pieces and not the editorial. As this is our 50th issue, we decided to host a very small giveaway in the form of a short and sweet makeshift contest. It was always the readers that inspired us to go on issue after issue. And now wed love some honest naked feedback from you guys. When you finish reading this weeks issue, drop whatever you think about what you liked, disliked, absolutely hated or loved about our magazine - the good, the bad and the ugly. There's a major flaw in this age old proverbial phrase. Sometimes the lemon just isn't ripe enough. Sorry, bad joke! Such has been my state for a last few months. A few raw lemons too many. It seemed highly unlikely for me to get back to writing again "so soon (!)" unless it was something really special. 50th issue of Turni, hardly anything else on the chain could be more special to those of us who hold it very close to the heart. Very. There has been quite a few new regular authors dedicating their time writing for Turni. I haven't had the fortune of talking to any of them really, so I haven't had the chance to thank them for their efforts they have put in all these weeks. Thank you all for the hustle, for the dedication....all new, and the old authors. We are here because you all stayed along. Head clerk has been pretty mad for the last few weeks about engagement on chain (or the lack of it), and I am probably in the worst possible position to "make a comment" on it. Let's face it, the last time I ever made a comment on chain, Giraffes still used to have short necks! :D Is this joke still relevant..? I don't know, that's how detached I have been and I am sorry for that. But back to engagement, my two cents (given once upon a time, I did understand engagement) would be listen to the head clerk. Listen to dada. They are wise, selfless souls....something that is rare these days. And they have no ulterior motive behind trying to drive engagement. I know I should have also been on the front right beside them...fighting the same fight...as I had promised. I have failed to keep my promise, I hope they will forgive me for leaving the battlefield. But what Dada and Sakib are trying to achieve will only benefit you guys. Trust me on this. Also, head-clerk still has the keys...he might just lock you guys out the office, (or inside, he usually gets what he wants ;)). Again, is this joke still relevant or am I too old already? I sure feel old. COVID hasn't been kind on anyone. More or less we have all been negatively impacted and yet we try to look for hope beyond all the disastrous mess we are in. Building a community is not easy, and it takes courage and patience to accomplish so. We don't have to worry about courage or patience when individuals like Zaku and Reaz Bro are in charge of this amazing community's gear. They are always so encouraging that I can't adequately express my gratitude with words. We must prioritize our family in our lives and spend as much time with them as possible. I say this because we frequently forget who we were and who we are now. Family is more than a word to me; it is a way of life. All of these things are associated with this one word: bonding, unity, and caring for one another. But every time I open my computer and check at the BDC discord server, I'm overjoyed because people are continually chatting, laughing, and gossiping. Every community needs a strong pillar, and Dada is that pillar for us. He constantly inspires us to improve ourselves. I know everyone adores Chick Magnet for his amazing versatility in providing unique names to other members of our community, but he has a pure heart that constantly gives me shivers. Last but not least, “The Good Doctor” (I am not talking about the television series) who always encourages and guides us to make the right decision. Starting something is challenging, but continuing and establishing that activity is even more difficult. For almost a year, we've been successfully publishing this magazine once a week. Finally, I'd like to share the status of a cricket legend, Sachin Tendulkar, that I saw on Facebook: "The difference between impossible and possible lies in one's determination." Sometimes we need motivation & I think "Turni" is a great motivation for us. ***<div class=pull-right>-@linco</div>*** ---- #### <center>***পঞ্চাশের ব্যবচ্ছেদ***</center> --- ৫০ সংখ্যাটি প্রকৃতপক্ষে বিশেষ গুরুত্ব বহন করে, জাতীয় এবং ব্যক্তিগত উভয় পর্যায়ে। উদাহরণস্বরূপ, ক্রিকেট খেলার কথা ধরা যাক, যেখানে পঞ্চাশ একটি ম্যাজিকাল নাম্বার। ব্যাটসম্যানের ৫০ রান, বোলারের জন্য ৫০ উইকেট আর ব্যক্তিগত পর্যায়ে ৫০ তম ম্যাচ, আরো কত কি! পঞ্চাশ সংখ্যাটি ধর্মীয় ক্ষেত্রে আরো গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। খ্রিস্টানদের অন্যতম ধর্মীয় উৎসব পেন্তেকোস্ট, স্টার সানডে থেকে ৫০ তম দিনে পালন করা হয়। কাবালাহে (Kabbalah), ধীশক্তির (পবিত্রতার) ৫০ টি গেট এবং অপবিত্রতা ৫০ টি গেট রয়েছে। ইসলাম ধর্ম মতে বেহেশতের (৫০-৪২) দরজা রয়েছে। সৌভাগ্যবান বেহেশতবাসীরা (পুরুষ) সেই দরজা দিয়ে ঢুকে তাদের জন্য রক্ষিত আয়তনয়না (৫০+২০) জন হুরের দিকে উৎফুল্ল ভাবে এগিয়ে যাবে। আমার স্ত্রী একজন ধর্মপ্রাণ মুসলমান হওয়া সত্ত্বেও এই বিষয়টা কিছুতেই মানতে পারেনা যে তারই শয্যাসঙ্গী তারই চোখের সামনে ৭০ জন হুরের সাথে জলকেলি করে বেড়াচ্ছে। এই বিষয়টা ভাবতেই নারীকুলের মন বিষাদে আর পুরুষকুলের মন আনন্দে উদ্বেলিত হয়ে উঠে! একটি রাষ্ট্রের ক্ষেত্রেও ৫০ সংখ্যাটা বেশ গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। রাষ্ট্র হিসেবে আমরা আর কয়েক মাস পরেই পঞ্চাশ বছর পূর্ণ করব। এই ৫০ বছরের প্রাপ্তি আর অপ্রাপ্তির হিসেব মিলালে বোধহয় শহীদ মুক্তিযোদ্ধারা স্বর্গে বসে আমাদের অবস্থা দেখে মুচকি হাসছেন। দুর্নীতি, চাঁদাবাজি, ধর্ষণ কোন ক্ষেত্রেই আমরা আজ পিছিয়ে নেই। একেবারে পঞ্চাশে পঞ্চাশ। যেখানে সারা বছর ট্যাক্স দিয়ে, অসুস্থ হলে পরে আমার আপনার মতো অনেকেরই জায়গা হয় সরকারি হাসপাতালে ফ্লোরে, সেখানে জেলখানার সাজাপ্রাপ্ত আসামিরা দিব্যি আরামে চিকিৎসার নামে হাসপাতালের বেড গুলো দখল করে আছে। সত্যিই সেলুকাস, কী বিচিত্র এই দেশ! এখন তূর্ণি এর প্রসঙ্গে আসা যাক। তূর্ণি এর ৫০ তম সংখ্যা আমাদের জন্য আসলে কতটা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ? আমি সম্পাদকমন্ডলী বা আমার মত যারা তূর্ণিতে লেখে তাদের কথা বলছে না, বলছি সাধারণ পাঠকদের কথা। আরো নির্দিষ্ট করে বলতে গেলে বলতে হয় আমি বিডিসি এর এক্টিভ লেখক এবং পাঠকদের কথা বলছি। আমি সঠিক করে হয়তো বলতে পারবোনা কতজন এই লেখাটি পড়বেন, তারপরও যতজনই পড়েন না কেন অন্তত কমেন্টস সেকশনে সেই ব্যাপারটা প্রতিফলিত হওয়া উচিত। এটা যেমন সত্যি যে কাউকে জোর করে পাঠক বানানো যায়না আবার এটাও সত্যি জোর করেই কিছু জিনিস আদায় করতে হয়। যাইহোক গত রাত ভোর ২ টা থেকে এখন অব্দি আমি জাগ্রত। ভোররাতে খবর এলো দুলাভাই এর দুইটা কিডনি ফেইল করেছে। এখন ডায়ালাইসিস করা হচ্ছে। ভেবেছিলাম এই সপ্তাহে তূর্ণিতে লেখাটা স্কিপ করব। কিন্তু তূর্ণি এর হিসাব অনুযায়ী পঞ্চাশোর্ধ সংখ্যায় বয়োবৃদ্ধ হওয়ার সুবাদে সম্পাদক মন্ডলীর দেয়া সম্মানটুকু মিস করতে চাইলাম না! হাসপাতালে বসে এই লেখাটা লিখতে লিখতে হঠাৎ মনে পড়ল ৫০ সংখ্যাটি সব সময় সুখকর নয়। বয়সের ক্ষেত্রে তো নয়ই। ৫০ বছর বয়স অতিক্রম করার পর আমাকেও হয়তো কোন একদিন এইরকম হাসপাতালের বেডে শুয়ে থাকতে হবে। সেদিন তূর্ণি থাকবে কিনা আমি জানিনা তবে আমার প্রত্যাশা তূর্ণি এর যাত্রা অব্যাহত থাকুক। বাকি দায়িত্বটা পাঠকদের উপরে রইল। https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/740958639829024859/868826399711039488/image0.jpg ***<div class=pull-right>-@deepu7</div>*** ---- #### <center>***Your Darkness***</center> --- https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/745211541611085924/869165616882389022/finalwork2.png Hear me o' sons of wretched mishaps, for there is hope for you yet. A big congratulation to the bdcommunity and the contributors to this magazine. I have been following up with it for some time and it is probably an idea worth stealing (for my community incentive). I have gotten inspiration for my post writing some of the pieces. I particularly like the editorial. It is unusually unique and stands out from the rest of the other posts I must admit. First of all, I like to congratulate the writers and also the readers who are staying with the Turni from the beginning to now. Personally, if I had to say about myself I wasn’t a good reader. I didn't love to read and didn't love to write on something. In this case, more than a year ago I got away from the hive. A friend of mind @Minhajulmredol said to me, " Why are you moving away from the hive? Come back, men! Read the Turni. You will learn a lot. " After that though, I read the Turni most of the time but I didn't put any comments in the comment section below. Till then 4 months ago come back again to the hive and started writing, learning and reading. Reading has become a habit for me now because of the regular reading of the Turni. Now, I can write anything on any topic. I started reading Turni willingly and at the time of reading, I enjoyed it also. If there're new writers I like to say one thing to them that read Turni regularly. Because here the great writers write of BDC. I am dam sure that If you keep continuing this habit then you will be felt benefitted like me. Now, I like to say something about the writers. In this magazine, everyone writes well and everyone has a different style of writing. The writer of this magazine is broadening day by day. And the new writers of this magazine are writing superbly. Among them, @sarashew and @chrysanthemum are my favourites. @sarashew wrote a lot of midnight poems. While reading her poem, this skill of her gives me a shock. Keep continuing your good work. Best of luck to both of you. If I say something about the old writers then I will say one thing that **"Old is gold"**. They are such a gem! Everyone is my favourite if you ask me who is your most favourite among the olds then I will say two names one who writes the editor part I don't know who is he, and another one is @deepu7 bhai, I am a huge fan of her writing and the recitation of his poetry. I find the scent of the soil between his writing and the recitation of the poem. That is why deepu bhai is the most favourite. I always eagerly wait to read your writing deepu bhai, although recently you are not too much active in your hive blog. Feeling bad after reading you writing today! Don't worry, pray to Allah, everything will be fine soon. It's a great honour to write on Turni. I Hope Turni will go ahead and in future, I may be part of it. If I ever get a chance to write in this magazine, it will be one of the achievements of my life.

First of all congratulations for the 50th Turni issue. This is a great achievement for the BDcommunity. We are able see this great day today through the love of so many people here and the hard work of our authors. Also many thanks to the editors behind Turni for giving us weekly magazines. Because through this one we get to see together some of the good authors in one. Definitely an admirable reason because so many people here can express their writing skills. Also through the magazine, authors are able to develop their writing skills as well as improve their blogging skills. Those like us are also motivated by reading their writing. Although not long ago I joined here but as @linco vaiya said BDcommunity is our second family. Where there is nothing to lose, but we can learn a lot from here. Bravo, what an accomplishment!! 50th issue. Huge congratulations for the too valuable achievement. It’s really gratifying that Turni has come so far and will go on, beyond to beyond!! It's still a surreal thing for me, being a part of the writer community of this magazine, where I see some incredibly talented people write about their lives, their hopes, and their stories every week. I dont usually disagree with our editor as he is THE wisest man I know, but this time ill disagree a bit. Even without the headclerk, all this wouldve been very much possible:) How I know that? Headclerk himself told me:3 Im very close with him and I know how lazy he is! And the work he does, im sure a 12 year old can do it better😅. Some of that too came out of his mouth, not mine.:v But he is very happy today. He told me that it was a privilege for him to be able to do what he was asked of. He couldve done a much better job and he regrets not putting enough effort in. But even then, in the end he is very very happy:) As for me, Im very happy too. It is an experience of a lifetime having the chance to be with the good souls who made this all possible:) thanking all of you one by one would take me a long fricking time. Ill do it personally sometimes. But for now, thank you guys:)
