Art and a Silver Spoon At That!

#### Half A Cup Please! ..
No.. You read that right. And it's also the name of my newest watercolor painting. So I painted this little watercolor last week. A simple cup of coffee, Off centered to the left and intentionally cut off. I didn’t want an entire cup of coffee being displayed. I utilized some paint colors that I don’t commonly used, so I guess you could say I stepped outside of my comfort zone on this one.

One day I found this super small, sterling silver, collector’s spoon. Spoon is manufactured by Bates and Klinke and depicts the Monticello on the tip of the handle. I found this little guy in a box of buttons I had purchased along time ago. A strange item defined in a box of buttons, but to be honest I found a lot of crap in there that was strange. That's a story for another day.

*Bates & Klinke Monticello Sterling Silver Souvenir Spoon*

I don’t know a lot about the sterling silver spoon except that it is a collectors item (souvenir spoon) and the company listed above made a slew of collectors spoons. I don’t know what it’s worth as far as wheat goes, but not much. Maybe it’s value is more in a collectors piece. I’m still hunting around looking for information on this particular spoon, so if you have any links please drop them in the comments below and I’ll be sure to check them out.

**Regardless, it’s still silver! Even though it’s sterling and not pure, still good for the stack! Plus I didn’t have to put in any money for it so that’s a big plus.**

I thought the tiny spoon fit well on my tiny painting. Laid there and actually thought that I should’ve painted a tiny spoon in right where it’s sitting. Either way the painting reminded me of the spoon, so I thought I would put both together in this post.

My sister used to collect spoons from all of the states that we visited when we were kids.  She even had a rack to display them all in.  I don't know if they still even make those kinds of things but we always used to find them at the gas stations off the express way.  Like Stuckey's and stuff like that.  I used to collect pennants.  I have a stack of those from all the states we visited.  Nice work on the art!  What a great find in your tin of buttons!

One of my local Thrift stores always have a box of those souvenir spoons I check through for Sterling spoons. I gave up after realizing that after a while they were were all silver plate. No luck yet.

I do believe you have a photograph for every situation! LOL. Love your tea cup, your spoon and I’m sure that is a great variety of tea at that. Yes, I’ve seen lots of plated silver my time. One must be very careful for sure. Worst case is I guess we could use the spoon to stir our tea or coffee. LOL. This little spoon could fit on the tip of my tongue. It’s that tiny. I must be careful otherwise if the coffee is too hot it may melt and dissolve the spear ha ha ha ha.

Actually, fermented Ginseng Kombucha. A pro-biotic drink and very refreshing.
The skull teaspoon helps cut my refined sugar consumption should I decide to sweeten my tea. Rather than a whole teaspoon of sugar, I would only have 2/3rds. For health reasons I need to cut back on sugar.💀

You multiply the weight of the piece by $0.925 then by the price of silver which is about $24. 

You then try to bamboozle people by saying the spoon is old, collectible and in a painting and try to sell it for significantly more than the base price.
