 Continuing on from [this post](https://peakd.com/family/@bearone/queen-of-her-crib) and taking @ryivhnn's recommendation, and after a lengthy, heated discussion, we decided to sidecar her cot without lifting the mattress up a level. Because our bed is quite high when she's in her cot she can't get up on the bed (yet). She does get up and leans on the side of the bed but that's about it for now.  All that said. We are still co-sleeping. That's what the lengthy discussion was about. I wanted to lift the cot mattress up so it could be a proper sidecar but Hubby said it defeated the purpose of her being in the cot if she can topple out of it. I, however, wasn't quite ready to give up the ease of our current night time feeding routine so we compromised. Basically the cot is there for when I'm still dead and she's up. I can move her to the cot for a bit and at least we have peace of mind knowing she won't fall out. Unfortunately the cot brings forth a new set of problems.  # Precious Bubba  Bella has a really low, LOW, pain tolerance. Like ridiculous, almost non existent, low. Even lower when she's tired. The slightest bumps and she starts crying; which isn't really the end of the world but she won't be comforted. She stops when she's ready and over it. I wish I was kidding. She would fall over, bump her head on the cot and she would start crying. I'd pick her up immediately, comfort her, make her giggle, she would stop for a brief second or two and then start crying again until she was done. I just can't handle her crying and because she's still clumsily figuring out the cot, she's always bumping into the hard bits. Which brings me to why this post is a Part 1. # EOFYS Again with the end of financial year sale. We decided to head down the mountain today and go to Spotlight (think Michaels for Aussies) so I could buy the materials I needed to make cot guards. Sure I could have bought them already made but we weren't happy with the amount of padding they had plus we had sections that needed custom work. While we were down we of course couldn't resist the EOFYS at Baby Bunting. My back demanded we buy a pram so we bought one that was 50% off, assembled it immediately and wheeled her around for a while.  Luckily she waited long enough for us pick out the material and padding we wanted from Spotlight before she wanted back in the carrier. I honestly thought she'd be more comfortable in the pram I guess she's just so used to being close to us. Anyhooo! Part 2! I'll show you guys the materials we picked out and my custom design for the bumpers. Aaaahhhh why is she so cute I ask you XD I love that second photo! This system will either work for you or you'll end up raising the cot after more heated arguments because if she's sleeping in the cot feeding looks like it might require slightly more waking up than what you're probably used to at this stage :) She may figure out how to get onto the bed from there as all she really needs to do is get her leg up, how flexible is she? XD My older two were pretty good in the pram but youngest hated it until he was a toddler and was then okay to ride in it sometimes. If you can't get her into it for a while at least you have something to carry baby stuff in? Well shes still in bed with me. The cot is just my back up for when I'm dead and shes up, which happens maybe twice a week? I dont think she's that flexible... or maybe it's too early to tell? She stirs quite often for feeds and I would hate to have to actually get up to feed her. #killme Good to know about the pram. She seems ok with it for a little bit but she gets restless real quick. I guess shes too used to being in the carrier? Cot padding is coming along sooo slowly.

My daughter probably has hypermobility as she was bendy as from tiny, one of our favourite games was me folding her in half x_x When she was tiny enough to hold in one hand I would touch her feet to her head (real easily, there was no muscle resistance whatsoever) and she thought it was the bestest fun and would giggle like crazy. Her brothers could not (too much resistance before their feet got anywhere near their head and I wasn't going to push it too much for obvious reasons) XD This flexibility made her a little climbing demon because she could kick her "cute little peets" up shoulder height and if she could get her foot onto something then that was it D: Movement in carrier dispels a lot more energy than movement in prams which can matter for some babies.
