It was one of those days in which staying home from work seemed much more attractive than going to work. Admittedly, most days feel like that, I just don't act on it much, but today I certainly did so, and it felt a little naughty, but well-needed. 

I didn't have much planned initially but knew it would begin with breakfast and coffee at my local cafe - and it did. I lingered there and read some of my latest book, *Book Lovers* by Emily Henry, and along the way managed to drink a couple coffees and, basically, have an awesome start to my day.

A little later, I browsed some shops and found a cute off-the-shoulder sun dress that seemed to call my name; how could I deny it, and at the bargain price of $39 *I didn't deny it, or myself.* It's going to look so good with my cowgirl boots. I wandered around the shops some more then decided the gardens is where I needed to be, green things and flowers always becon me. I found a spot and read my book some more waiting for the highlight of the day to happen - Lunch with my boy.

I don't often get to have lunch with him, our jobs get in the way mostly, his more than mine as he's always super-busy during the week; it makes lunch dates a little more special due to their infrequency. I was excited.

It was a beautiful little moment, we ate lunch in the little garden-cafe within the botanic gardens with blue skies overhead, birds calling and flitting around...and we laughed a little, held hands as we ate and connected in a lovely way; it felt naughty as I was supposed to be at work, but I needed it...and the way he looks at me. *Mmm, those eyes on me.*

When we parted I headed to a gourmet market not too far from home where I picked up some things to make us a nice dinner, I want to do something special for us, then went to see my mother whose chemotherapy is taking a bit of a toll; we spent the afternoon together. Oh, later I also tried on my new sun dress with a few different looks and made a mental note to suggest to my man that we go for a picnic in the countryside soon...I think he'll like my new dress on, or off.

It was a really lovely day and, looking back on it, I realised I needed it - we all do - as life can be hectic and applies pressure. We need to release it, otherwise it builds up...and that's unhealthy. People I love, gardens, flowers...it never fails to enliven me.
