Two Views of the Old Matron's Curves

# <center> CERAMIC SCULPTURE WITH LATEX OVERLAYS </CENTER>

I created this sculpture about five years ago. It is ceramic and stands 3 feet tall. When I first began its construction it I had no preconceived idea as to the direction I wanted to go, other than I wanted to used rounded forms. For many people they see the final form as totally non-objective, in other words no subject matter other than pure shape and form. For myself it is like looking at clouds, you see what you want, and what I began seeing figural form.

At the time I made this piece I was making many sculptures of similar construction. What is different about this piece is a departure from ceramic tradition. Instead of using a glazed surface I taped designs and poured latex paint over the surface.
