I think few months have passed and I wasn't so active on the Hive blockchain as life - both personal and professional - threw some challenges at me and simply took over. But things are starting to calm down and steadily I am getting back to my crypto routine. It is not that I wasn't present at all, but my content creation took a pause or was just sporadic. I've tried to continue my curation to the regular list of users that I am following and also leave a thread here and there. And even by doing as little as that, I has a pleasant surprise as I have surpassed 48,000 Hive Power. That opened my eyes as the 50,000 Hive Power goal now seams more doable and quite in sight.

I've already have about three days of consecutive long form content creation and it is great to see that I was not forgotten. And as I get in my rhythm and routine, every bit of love shows through upvoting will help me reach my 50,000 HP goal. The ultimate goal for me is to become an Orca, but that will require more involvement and some serious powerups to get there. But I will be happy to reach the 50k threshold sooner rather than later as for me that quite a beautiful number and milestone. And as I emerge on this path, more perks and benefits will reveal themselves along the way. Below, I will try to emphasize those that I consider of upmost importance.

### Earn ~3% APR just by holding
Hive Power gives you passive returns without lifting a finger. It might not sound like much, but it stacks up over time, especially as you grow your stake. Just by holding and being active, I’m earning. And to tell you the truth the 3% APR is similar to what I get from my bank. But on top of that, I will be getting also curation rewards through the upvotes that I am casting.

### Better curation rewards
Who doesn't love more rewards? With more Hive Power, my upvotes carry more weight. That means I can support the creators I like and still earn something back through curation. It's a win-win all around by decentralization the blockchain through a variety of upvotes and to strengthen my position as 50% out of that curation returns back to me.

### Higher support and influence
With an increased stack in Hive Power, I can offer higher support and influence when I cast upvotes, but also for voting Hive Witnesses and DAO Proposals. The Witnesses are those validating the blocks on the blockchain and they are vital to a healthy ecosystem. The DAO Proposals is the mechanism to finance projects with a real impact on Hive. Thus, having more HP I can contribute to those projects that I believe in.

As I've surpassed 48k Hive Power (actually 48,105.650 Hive Power), I remembered how Hive rewards those who stay and build over time. The road to 50k looks short now, and every post, comment, and upvote brings me closer. It’s steady progress, and once I hit that milestone, I’ll start eyeing the bigger ones ahead. Orca status might still be a stretch, but step by step it’s all possible.
