[Terracore](https://www.terracoregame.com/?ref=behiver) is the newest play2earn game that has recently launched on the Hive blockchain. It is developed by [Crypt0Gnome](https://peakd.com/@crypt0gnome) and based on his statement, this will be a sole work of a **post-apocalypse idle game on the [HIVE](https://hive.io/) blockchain** by putting together all of the things he has learned throughout his development career and using AI to handle certain parts of the project. It is amazing how one day you can be a participant in the Hive blockchain ecosystem and the next day you can be a cryptopreneur. Hopefully, someday I can make this transition as well as my head is full of ideas and I have a little bit of technical knowledge as a QA engineer, just need to put that into practice and make it come true.

In order to enter Terracore, you first need to become a citizen which will mean an entry of 20 $HIVE tokens that will be used towards development costs & supporting future game growth and servers. Considering that it is not a free2play game, this means that the use of multiple accounts is allowed. While this is great, I think it requires a lot of hustle to get your investment back and as I've learned from other games like Splinterlands that managing multiple accounts is hard and time-consuming, I will just stick with a single account for this one.

## Gameplay

The gameplay is pretty simple and reminds me of the fallen DrugWars game in the old days, but hopefully, Terracore will not have the same destiny and will develop enough use cases to keep the player's interest and wanting to be part of this game's future. Here are the main activities that you can do within the game.
- Engineering - Using $SCRAP tokens you can up your engineering skills which will translate into more mining of these assets, allowing you further upgrades.
- Damage - Used when attacking other players and trying to steal their $SCRAP tokens. This is measured against the opponent's defense, so it better be higher!
- Defense - Used when defending from robbers, need a good number in order to repel such attacks.
- Stash Size - Sets the maximum amount of $SCRAP tokens that can be gathered until claimed.
- Claims - 1 free claims gained once 4 hours.
- Attacks - 1 free attacks gained once 4 hours.
- Explore - Stake $SCRAP in order to be granted access to Oceanea and maybe get a piece of land there.

I must confess that I like idle games as they don't eat a big amount of time and I can still strategize and put my mind to work. In these games, it is important to be an early adopter and level up in order to be able to defend yourself against robberies, harvest the $SCRAP tokens in time, and also be able to perform swift attacks increasing your holdings. While one could think to enter and recoup his investment fast, it is important to get to comfortable levels in order not to be beaten by everybody. Thus, I would first consume $SCRAP to become more powerful, rather than selling every asset that I gain right away.
