The progress of a community depends on the individuals within, thinking about the best way to make it move forward. This umbrella concept covers both digital communities like Hive, as well as real-life communities. 

In my community, for example, we often talk about the misgivings of the Government and their lack of interest in improving the common man's life. In reality, the government is just a bunch of people placed theirs through an (corrupt) electoral system that is meant to guide the affairs of the state in the right direction. 

However, as ordinary people, away from the government and in our own private corner, I often ask myself how I can contribute my quota in improving the system. 

When I think about the complex nature of the Nigerian system and the difficulties we face in the country, I start by asking myself, first and foremost if I'm contributing to my perceived retardation of proceedings. 

In digital environments like Hive, just like in Nigeria,  it is pretty much the same thing, in that, every individual's first task is to ensure that he/she isn't damaging the system. 

In reality, there are no rules around here, and you can do whatever you want with your tokens, but still, I always feel like we could all do more to get Hive to the next stage. 

In recent times, there's been a lot of emphasis on hive-based front-ends like Leo and the rest, but sadly, the Hive token itself has been largely neglected. We've seen Leo, and Steem usurp us in terms of coin value and while it is no reason to panic, I wonder how we're going to bridge the gap. 

I read [a tweet](https://twitter.com/Lordbutterfly/status/1332991454713622530) by @lordbutterfly, where he discusses the idea of employing a proper marketing agency through the DHF to push the Hive narrative to the World's eye. 

I honestly think this is a good idea and compared to a lot of the other proposals, including THAT $30k payoff that left a couple of us sore, this will go a long way in improving Hive as a whole. 

The priority should be about improving the community, rather than personal feelings. At this point in time, the community needs a push of this nature and I'd gladly throw my weight behind any marketing scheme.
