We continue touring the Cinqueterre (Five Lands) this true natural paradise. Five small coastal towns that appear on the slopes of the mountains (in this case the Apennines that cross Italy from North to South). The Alps, on the other hand, cross it from East to West marking and delimiting the borders with other countries in the North such as Switzerland, Austria, France.
The Five Lands (Cinqueterre in Italian) are a little paradise not far from the capital of Liguria, Genoa. To be exact less than 100 kms.
For those who come to Italy as tourists, they should simply look for the A10 (Highway 10) that runs throughout Liguria from South to North and depends on the point where they end up taking towards the South of the peninsula.
For example, if you come from Turin or Milan, you will arrive in Genoa from where it is very easy to take the A10 and head south, like someone heading to Rome.
The second coastal town we find is Vernazza.

> Por ejemplo si vienen desde Turín o Milán llegarán a Génova desde donde es muy fácil tomar la A10 y dirigirse al Sur, como quien va rumbo a Roma.
> El segundo pueblito costero que encontramos es Vernazza.
### Some recommendations. / Algunas recomendaciones.
Before going any further, I want to make some clarifications for you. Autumn and spring are the best periods to visit this place since at this time of year we can go hiking on trails, more or less demanding trekking (suitable footwear advisable). And this physical effort added to the summer heat is not the most recommended.
On the other hand, if we want to rest only on very quiet beaches, summer is the indicated period of the year.
Winter is inadvisable due to frequent storms.

Otoño y primavera son los mejores períodos para visitar este lugar ya que en esta época del año podemos efectuar caminatas por senderos, trekking más o menos exigente (aconsejable el calzado adecuado). Y este esfuerzo físico sumado al calor estivo no es lo más aconsejado.
> En cambio si queremos reposar solamente en playas muy tranquilas el verano es el período del año indicado.
> El invierno es desaconsejable por los frecuentes temporales.

### How to move from one place to another. / Cómo trasladarnos de un lugar a otro.
The Five Lands are connected to each other by the railroad, by a motorway (the A10) that runs in the upper part of the mountains and that crosses all of Liguria in a parallel way to the sea-
Vehicular circulation in any of these five coastal towns is strictly prohibited. For this reason, you have to leave the highway in the town of Levante and from there make a provincial route that crosses all the Cinque Terre.
To park there are places before reaching each location specially designated for parking. Nothing in particular. Sometimes it means it is the final part of the widened road that serves this purpose if we do not want to pay a fine that, apart from being quite salty, inevitably comes through the numerous controls that are practiced.

If we have to fall into a paid parking lot (more and more numerous, just as the free ones are less numerous) it will cost us about 20 euros per day.
For this reason it is best to travel by train, get off at each station (trains run every 30 minutes) and do a bit of trekking.
The ideal is to buy the giornaliero (daily) pass that will allow us to travel as many times as we want within 24 hours of that day. That is, it is valid from 00:00 to 24:00 and we have to validate it on the stamping machines present at each train station. Along with the ticket or ticket, the user is given a depliant with all the train schedules and the main points of interest.

A veces significa es la parte final de la carretera ensachada que sirve a este propósito si no queremos pagar una multa que, aparte de ser bastante salada, llega indefectiblemente a través de los numerosos controles que se practican.

> Si tenemos que caer en un estacionamiento de pago (cada vez más numerosos, asi como son menos numerosos los gratuitos) nos costará cerca de 20 euros por día.
> Por esta razón lo mejor es viajar en tren, descender en cada estación (los trenes pasan cada 30 minutos) y hacer un poco de trekking.
> Lo ideal es comprar el pass giornaliero (diario) que nos permitirá viajar todas las veces que lo deseemos dentro de las 24 horas de ese día. Es decir, tiene validez desde la hora 00:00 hasta la hora 24:00 y tenemos que convalidarlo en las máquinas timbradoras presentes en cada estación de tren. Junto al billette o pasaje le es entregado al usuario un depliant con todos los horarios d elos trenes y los principales puntos de interés.

### Vernazza, the coastal town of a thousand colors overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. / Vernazza, el pueblo costero de los mil colores con vista al mar Mediterráneo.
As soon as we get off the train in Vernazza we begin to climb the steep slopes of the mountain in a city tour alternating alleys, flowery gardens, old houses and a bit of fatigue. Continuous climbs test our physical endurance. The main objective is to find (and travel) the Sentiero Azurro (Blue Trail).
This path, like all the rest, is paid but if you have the pass that we referred to in the previous point, you do not have to pay anything. It is already included in the price.

> Apenas descendemos del tren en Vernazza comenzamos a subir las empinadas laderas de la montaña en un recorrido ciudadano alternando callejuelas, jardines floridos, casas antiguas y un poco de cansancio. Las subidas continuas ponen a prueba nuestra resistencia física. El objetivo principal es encontrar (y recorrer) el Sentiero Azurro (Sendero Azul).
Este sendero como todos los restantes son de pago pero si tienen el pass a que hacíamos referencia en el punto anterior, no tienen que pagar nada. Ya está incluído en el precio.

Once the panoramic viewpoint of the Blue Trail has been reached, the photos that can be taken are spectacular and have traveled the world.
The Blue Trail is the simplest, most famous and most visited route of all the Cinque Terre.
It is divided into four sections that connect the five villages and has a total length of 12 km.
Access to the road is subject to a fee, because very often after the autumn rains some of its parts are closed for repairs.
The cost varies according to the number of open pieces, normally from 5 to 7 euros (if it is not included in the pass).

We go down to the town and the first thing that stands out is the bulk of the church of San Margarita, built in 200 and expanded between the 16th and 17th centuries, always maintaining the Romanesque style, a style that characterizes most Italian churches.
This beautiful church, whose real name is Santa Margarita de Antioquia, built on the sea at the western end of the city, gives a perfectly idyllic literary atmosphere to Vernazza Square.
Today the church is accessed through an open access in the apse area during the 19th century. Evocative is the black stone with which it is built.
