INVASIÓN DE ORUGAS PELUCHE

Esta zona de la residencia se encuentra cerrada desde ayer. Cerca de allí hay un parque para los niños. Es un espacio para la recreación y esparcimiento.

Hace apenas un mes los árboles que ambientan el lugar estaban vestidos de hojas verdes y flores amarillas. De un momento a otro comenzaron a secarse sin aparente explicación.

Pero, nunca hay una razón sin causa y lo dije hace unos días en una publicación. Una invasión de **orugas peluche** sigue generando alarma entre la comunidad. Esta vez tocó cerrar el espacio de los niños porque las orugas siguen multiplicándose.

Como pueden observar las bellas pero peligrosas orugas no son tan fáciles de exterminar. Ni el control sanitario, ni los bomberos has logrado el objetivo de sacarlas del lugar.

Para los niños o para los mismos adultos la oruga en cuestión  puede resultar atractiva es por ello que debemos apoyar la iniciativa de acordonar la zona mientras se busca solución.

Se teme que las orugas peluche invadan otros espacios. Las hembras pueden dejar sus larvas en esas hojas fuertes de los árboles. Seguro están allí también para protegerlas de las hormigas que también hay a montón.

>Stuffed caterpillars are feared to invade other spaces. Females can leave their larvae on those strong tree leaves. They are probably there too, to protect them from the ants that are also plentiful.

Las orugas miden alrededor de 3 o 4  centímetros, aparentan ser grandes en las fotografías pero no lo son. No sé si se encuentran en fase adulta, creo que ninguno en la residencia lo sabe. Lo cierto es que andan hambrientas devorando hojas y secando los árboles.

Esperemos que estas peluches no resulten maltratadas pero es urgente sacarlas del lugar por la cantidad de personas que por allí transitan a diario. Además, pueden convertirse en plaga.

¡Santo Dios! Hay demasiadas, claramente ya su población en la zona es alta, por lo que ya son plaga. Deberían crear una cuadrilla de vecinos y eliminar las que estén a su alcance, los organismos de sanidad y demás no es que no puedan controlarlas, sino que no les importa mucho la situación, así es este país lamentablemente.

Lo de la cuadrilla lo digo para picarle adelante al problema, porque como sabemos todos los estadios juveniles de lepidóptero son móviles, entonces pueden desplazarse y empezar a llegar a las viviendas cercanas, aquí ya hablamos de accidentes. Por otro lado, cuando una oruga de polilla <i>**Megalopyge sp**</i> supera los 3 cm de longitud, ya se encuentra en sus últimos estadios como oruga, por lo que está a cuestión de días de realizar crisálida; sin embargo,  al ser muchas, le comento que las polillas tienden a volver a la zona donde crecieron porque saben que allí tienen a sus plantas nutricias, por lo que seguirán poniendo huevos en masa y tendrán esta plaga constante si no toman medidas.

Como de costumbre buen material profesora @belkisa758, espero y puedan hacer algo antes de que sea tarde, si se animan, recuerden llevar ropa que los proteja por completo, hay que minimizar riesgos jeje, nos seguimos leyendo un abrazo.

Gracias por esta valiosa información @abneagro, te cuento que ya invadieron otra zona, se ven menos ese lado pero allí están, definitivamente se convirtieron en plagas. Entre los vecinos se comenta talar los árboles que nutres a esos insectos como bien lo señalas en tu comentario, llegarán nuevamente si se les permite. 

O sea, ya se encuentran en fase adulta es importante actuar de inmediato. Que bueno tenerte entre los comentarios, sentí remordimiento porque talar los árboles y matar los insectos no lo consideraba bueno :( pero sí, por seguridad hay que hacerlo.

Exacto, talar los arboles es una buena alternativa, para compensar pueden plantar a otras especies vegetales en la zona, digamos que sera un cambio, y bueno, a veces es necesario tomar medidas para controlar poblaciones de artrópodos, de igual manera muchas se salvarán, ya que la población allí es alta. Por otro lado, la fase adulta o imago siempre es la polilla o mariposa (según la especie), la oruga solo aumenta de tamaño y sufre ligeros cambios a medida que muda de cutícula, pero sigue siendo juvenil (pasa por instares). Me alegra que tomen medidas, ya que a veces es necesario.

Wuao amiga esas orugas son toxicas. Anoche en twitter vi  que entre los animales peligrosos que aparecieron en el año 2020 estan las orugas venenosas.
Hay que tomar precaución.
