Caracas fue calificada por la socióloga ***Saskia Sassen*** como **ciudad global**. El término se acuña dado a una serie de características de crecimiento constante de sus urbanizaciones a razón de la globalización. Aquí estuve, en el parque del **Calvario**, evidenciando y dejando testimonio del crecimiento de esta gran ciudad fundada por Diego de Lozada. 

Caracas, capital de Venezuela es también llamada **La gran sucursal del cielo**. Existen varias hipótesis al respecto. Una se le atribuye por la majestuosidad del Cerro Ávila, otra tesis sugiere que esta palabra deriva del nombre de una tribu indígena y otra hipótesis dice que el nombre fue tomado de una flor que los indígenas llamaban caracas.

Here I was, in the park of **Calvario**, evidencing and leaving testimony of the growth of this great city founded by Diego de Lozada.  Caracas, the capital of Venezuela is also called **The great branch of heaven**. There are several hypotheses about this. One is attributed to the majesty of the Avila Hill, another thesis suggests that this word derives from the name of an indigenous tribe and another hypothesis says that the name was taken from a flower that the Indians called caracas.

Este bello lugar recreacional inicialmente fue conocido como **Parque Ezequiel Zamora** también  a lo largo de su historia se le conoció como **Paseo Guzmán Blanco**, **Paseo Independencia**  **Parque El Calvario El Calvario.**

>This beautiful recreational place was initially known as **Ezequiel Zamora Park** also throughout its history it was known as **Paseo Guzmán Blanco**, **Paseo Independencia** **El Calvario El Calvario Park.**

En una de las dependencias del parque podemos disfrutar de la **Plaza Bolívar del Calvario**. El monumento se encuentra en perfectas condiciones al igual que cada una  de sus áreas. Se puede disfrutar en este lugar de la paz y tranquilidad aunque otras personas hablan de la inseguridad reinante en los actuales momentos. 

>In one of the rooms of the park we can enjoy the **Plaza Bolívar del Calvario**. The monument is in perfect condition as well as each of its areas. It is possible to enjoy in this place the peace and tranquility although other people speak of the prevailing insecurity at the present time.

Sin lugar a dudas este parque es un excelente mirador de la ciudad de Caracas. Por sus cuatro puntos cardinales se contempla la belleza caraqueña comenzando con esa vista maravillosa hacia el Ávila. Podríamos pasar horas allí pardos y de seguro no nos cansaríamos. 
>Without a doubt this park is an excellent viewpoint of the city of Caracas. Through its four cardinal points you can contemplate the beauty of Caracas starting with that wonderful view of the Avila. We could spend hours there browning and for sure we would not get tired.

<center><h3>*Capilla de Lourdes | Lourdes Chapel*</h3></center>

Caminé hacia otra dependencia del parque par encontrar la Capilla de Lourdes. Así como se aprecia en la fotografía aparenta estar muy bonita pero lamentablemente no es así. Se encuentra en total abandono, destruida, con ventanales y puertas rotas. Nadie asiste a ese lugar sino para observar sus ruinas. 
>I walked to another part of the park to find the Lourdes Chapel. As you can see in the picture it looks very nice but unfortunately it is not. It is in total abandonment, destroyed, with broken windows and doors. No one comes to this place except to observe its ruins.

<center><h3>El Parnaso | The Parnassus</h3></center>

Seguí mi camino rumbo hacia otra dependencia, esta vez llegué  la plaza de la estrella. En ese momento personal de limpieza y cuidados del parque se encontraban cortando maleza para dejarla hermosa. Desde acá se puede bajar por las famosas escaleras que caracterizan al parque pero, estaba cerrado en este momento. 
>I continued on my way to another outbuilding, this time I arrived at the star square. At that moment, the park's cleaning and care staff were cutting down weeds to make it beautiful. From here you can go down the famous stairs that characterize the park but, it was closed at this time. </div>
