Some time ago I showed you a part of what was that day in San Marino, but as in general the visit to this, the third smallest country in Europe, takes a whole day, there were things that in that opportunity I didn't show you, and they were its towers and its church. </div> </div> <div class="pull-left"> <div class="text-justify"> # Viaja conmigo a la Edad Media: perdámonos en San Marino y sus torres ________ Hola mis queridos amigos de la comunidad de Pinmapple en el increible ecosistema de Hive! Es un placer estar una vez más por aquí, en esta ocasión para viajar por este país que está enclavado en Italia. Hace un tiempo les mostré una parte de lo que fue aquel día en San Marino, pero como en general la visita a este, el tercer país más pequeño de Europa, toma todo un día, hubo cosas que en aquella oportunidad no alcancé a mostrarles, y fueron sus torres y su iglesia. </div> </div> ______ <div class="pull-left"> <div class="text-justify">  </div> </div> <div class="pull-left"> <div class="text-justify">  </div> </div> ________          ________ <div class="pull-left"> <div class="text-justify"> This place has three towers. It is reached by simply walking along the path that step by step increases its slope and goes into a kind of forest with old trees, beautiful flowers and a panoramic view that accompanies the walker all the time. It is a very beautiful experience, since San Marino offers shops where they sell symbolic elements of the Middle Ages, and the materials of the different buildings have a firm grayish stone, characteristic of different parts of Europe, but also of a certain era. Each tower has a name, the first is called La Guaita or La Rocca; the second is La Cesta, and the third, La Montale. All three are on Mount Titano, distributed at some distance from each other and at different heights. </div> </div> <div class="pull-left"> <div class="text-justify"> Este lugar cuenta con tres torres. Se llega sencillamente caminando por el sendero que paso a paso va aumentando su pendiente y se va adentrando en una especie de bosque con árboles de antaño, flores preciosas y una vista panorámica que acompaña todo el tiempo al caminante. Es una muy bella experiencia, ya que paralelamente San Marino ofrece locales en donde venden elementos simbólicos de la Edad Media, y los materiales de las diferentes edificaciones cuentan con una firme piedra grisácea, característica de diferentes lugares de Europa, pero también de cierta época. Cada torre tiene un nombre, la primera se denomina La Guaita o La Rocca; la segunda es La Cesta, y la tercera, La Montale. Las tres están en El Monte Titano, distribuidas a cierta distancia unas de otras y a diferente altura. </div> </div> _____ <div class="pull-left"> <div class="text-justify">     </div> </div> <div class="pull-left"> <div class="text-justify">     </div> </div> _____         ________ <div class="pull-left"> <div class="text-justify"> I happily climbed as high as I could and the only thing I disliked was some insects that started to increase as soon as I got higher. I have no idea why they were there, but mainly when you approached a viewpoint, the flying insects were crowded there. You could not even open your mouth to talk because there were thousands of them, tiny and with no limit, that is, they flew glued or on top of you. Other than that, the experience was wonderful. After a while, I started to feel quite hungry, so I decided to go to a place I had seen and that had caught my attention for lunch. I chose a tuna salad and accompanied it with a beer. The restaurant was beautiful and was next to a panoramic view, so being there kept me in constant connection with an incredible but real landscape. </div> </div> <div class="pull-left"> <div class="text-justify"> Subí felizmente hacia donde pude y de lo único que renegué fue de unos insectos que empezaron a aumentar ni bien aumentaba la altura. No tengo idea a qué se debía su presencia, pero principalmente al acercarse uno a algún mirador, los insectos voladores estaban aglomerados allí. No se podía ni abrir la boca para hablar porque eran miles, ínfimos y no tenían límite alguno, es decir, volaban pegados o encima de uno. Fuera de eso, la experiencia fue maravillosa. Pasado un buen tiempo, empecé a sentir bastante hambre, así que decidí ir a un lugar que había visto y que había llamado mi atención a almorzar. Elegí una ensalada de atún y la acompañé con una cerveza. It caught my attention because it looked very simple if I compared it with most of the churches I had been seeing in Europe, especially in Italy throughout my trip. I went inside out of curiosity and also to be grateful for my stay there, and to my surprise, its interior was also simple and humble. </div> </div> <div class="pull-left"> <div class="text-justify"> Al regresar, ya cerca de lo que es la salida de este hermoso recorrido, empiezan a observarse otros elementos de esta pequeña ciudad, como algunos museos y una iglesia. Me llamó la atención porque parecía muy sencilla si la comparaba con la mayoría de las iglesias que había ido viendo en Europa, especialmente en Italia a lo largo de mi viaje. Entré por curiosidad y también para agradecer mi estancia allí, y para mi sorpresa, su interior también era sencillo y humilde. </div> </div> <div class="pull-left"> <div class="text-justify"> Las torres de San Marino y mi vuelta a la estación de bus, constituyeron la mitad de mi visita a aquel país. Fue muy lindo caminar por sus senderos de piedra y encontrarme rodeada de vegetación y paisaje. En más de un momento recordé series o películas como El Señor de los Anillos o Game of Thrones, en donde en sus traslados de un lugar a otro, atraviesan espacios así, con vestimentas particulares como las que vendían en San Marino. San Marino has always intrigued me and I would love to visit it one day. It appears to be quite a nice place. The views are spectacular from up high. I think the selling point is that it is the third smallest country in Europe and it would be worth visiting it and learning about its history. And for me personally, to finally add San Marino coins to my collection.
