For all those who are not Italian, I will try to summarize the short dialogue below.
We are in a show called ***Ciao Maschio*** where the journalist interviews famous men and where various reflections arise.
In this episode there are Paolo Bonolis, a very famous Italian presenter who also presented Sanremo among many others, Giacomo Giorgi, an actor who I remember from the third season of *Doc - Nelle Tue Mani* and Claudio Cecchetto, a well-known Italian musical connoisseur and composer.
In this segment Giacomo Giorgio is reflecting on his generation of 25-year-olds who have difficulty relating to the future and says:
- "...for people of my generation it is very difficult to love someone, because there was Covid, there is war. That is, there is a lack of future..."
Right at this moment Paolo Bonolis urges him and interrupts him
- "No! There is an excess of the present. There is an excess of the present, it is not the lack of the future. Because I won't grant you this, because every generation has had its lights and its shadows. There is an excess of the present because loving means limiting one's existence to a person or a fact. And when there is so much stuff available one doesn't want to limit oneself to the possibility of walking around with the trolley in the supermarket of life what do you have"
- "No, Paolo is true about this" - continues Giacomo - "But allow me to say that for example your generation, my father's... I saw my parents in a fantastic moment, that is, you lived the best years of the world..."
- "Because once upon a time building a love, building a family meant building a safe place to live in. Today this safe place, due to the great availability of everything that we are told exists, is more of a prison for people than a refuge. And this is the great difficulty of the moment: there is too much stuff! We have pockets that presume to be cornucopias of infinite collection, but this is not the case."
Dear Paolo Bonolis, you took the thoughts out of my head, or as they say, the words out of my mouth.
This is exactly what I see in this historical period which leads more and more to individuality.

Per tutti coloro che non sono Italiani, provo a riassumere qui sotto il breve dialogo.
Siamo in una trasmissione che si chiama ***Ciao Maschio*** dove la giornalista intervista appunto degli uomini famosi e dove nascono diverse riflessioni.
In questa puntata sono presenti Paolo Bonolis, famosissimo presentatore italiano che ha presentato tra i tanti anche Sanremo, Giacomo Giorgi, attore che io ricordo per la terza stagione di *Doc - Nelle tue mani* e Claudio Cecchetto, noto conoscitore e compositore musicale italiano.
In questo spezzone Giacomo Giorgio sta riflettendo sulla sua generazione di 25enni che hanno difficoltà nel relazionarsi con il futuro e dice:
- "...per i ragazzi della mia generazione è molto difficile amare qualcuno, perchè c'è stato il Covid, c'è la guerra. Cioè c'è una mancanza di futuro..."
Proprio in questo momento lo incalza Paolo Bonolis e lo interrompe
- "No! C'è un eccesso di presente. C'è un eccesso di presente, non è la mancanza del futuro. Perchè questo non ve lo concedo, perchè ogni generazione ha avuto le sue luci e le sue ombre. C'è un eccesso di presente perchè amare significa circoscrivere la propria esistenza ad una persona o ad un fatto. E quando c'è tanta roba a disposizione uno non vuole limitarsi nella possibilità di andare in giro col carrello nel supermercato della vita. Questa è la grossa difficoltà che avete"
- "No, su questo è vero Paolo" - continua Giacomo - "Però permettimi di dire che la generazione per esempio tua, di mio papà...io vedevo i miei genitori in un momento fantastico, cioè voi avete vissuto gli anni più belli del mondo..."
- "Perchè una volta costruire un amore, costruire una famiglia era costruire un luogo sicuro in cui vivere. Oggi questo luogo sicuro, a causa della grande disponibilità del tutto che ci viene detto esserci, è più una prigione per le persone che un rifugio. E questa è la grande difficoltà del momento: c'è troppa roba! Abbiamo delle saccocce che presumono di essere delle cornucopie di raccolta infinta, ma non è così."
Caro Paolo Bonolis, mi hai tolto i pensieri dalla testa, o come si suol dire, le parole di bocca.
E' proprio quello che vedo io in questo periodo storico che porta sempre di più all'individualità.
