Here in the Philippines, we have Chinese restaurants in almost all cities here. We have had a long history of trade with China and they have greatly influenced our food culture. In most Filipino-Chinese restaurants I go to, I notice that they have usual things in the menu and you can never go wrong when you order those dishes. Since I was a kid, buttered chicken and sweet and sour pork has been my favorite from these places. <center></center> Buttered chicken is just like fried chicken but it has a different kind of pop to it. It's also crunchy but less starchy and there is more flavor to it. <center></center> The sweet and sour pork is one of the best. I love its texture, I love the coat or breading, whatever you call it. The pork are cut bite-sized and usually very very tender when your teeth digs into it. Ugh! I love it with the nice smell of the bell peppers and the sweet taste of pineapple bits. Next time, you visit Chinese restaurants, try these two. You would love it like I do, for so many years now.
