Oh wow, I'm ALMOST into the current year now with my backlog of [Humble Bundle](https://www.humblebundle.com/monthly?refc=Zio8ho) thoughts! Getting there... but if it is anything like my own Steam backlog... it will always just be a little bit further away! And receding away like the expanding Universe!

But I do what I can!

So, for this December 2024 [Humble Bundle](https://www.humblebundle.com/monthly?refc=Zio8ho) drop, we had a pretty decent one... except that I had already foolishly bought many of the good ones that were included! Sigh... when will I ever learn!

Leading the pack this month is the highly regarded Bomb Rush Cyberfunk! I'm not really even sure what sort of game this is... retro stylings (usually a turn off for me...), break dancing... street skating... parkour... everything all mixed into one in a weird arse futuristic setting! Honestly, I didn't think that this would be something that I would claim... but the player reviews are SO good, and it works on the Steam Deck... so, this might just be one of those gems that [Humble Bundle](https://www.humblebundle.com/monthly?refc=Zio8ho) is so good at unearthing in these drops! Claimed, just to see what it is like!

Old Work is another variation on the 4X genre... I love this genre, but it has gotten quite stagnant. But I keep trying out many of these games just to see if they manage to come up with something new and novel that is interesting... It does seem like Old World blends in a bit of the regular CIV mechanics with some Crusader Kings like dynasty sort of thing. So, I would have claimed this... but I bought the Hooded Horse bundle in a Steam sale... because I love that publisher's style of game development selection!

Atlas Fallen is an Action RPG that looks pretty damn awesome... but I know that I will never really finish this sort of game, and it is a waste to claim it. I have so many of these games that haven't been completed... or even started. And there really isn't enough in this game to set it apart from all the others... so, I'll skip this and pass it to the key store!

Crime Boss: Rockay City looks like it could have been a decent enough game... the premise is okay, roguelike FPS crime boss campaign... but also with multiplayer. But the reviews are full of non-optimisation and lack kof engaging gameplay... sort of important for this sort of game. And I weaned myself off the CounterStrike hamster wheel a while back... even if this works in Single Player, I'm not sure that I would want to hop back onto that sort of grind treadmill again. Skip... to the key store!

The Invincible... wow, this is pretty interesting! Story first adventure game... in an already crafted sci-fi universe. Looks good too! I was expecting some cookie-cutter FPS shooter... so, when I saw the trailers, well, count me hooked! Love a good story! Plus, those games have ends!

Moonstone Island... retro graphics, monster collecting... Nope, hard pass... I never got into the Pokemon games, and I won't get into this either. To the key store!

Inkulinati was an interesting game that I bought in a previous Steam sale after it was on my wish list for ages. And of course, it appears now on the Humble Bundle! STOP BUYING GAMES! Anyway, it was sort of interesting... but the gameplay wasn't crazily interesting or fun in the end... despite the novel graphics. But what killed it for me was a literal freeze and crash on the Steam Deck... which stopped me playing, and I never returned back to it.

Venba... hmmm short, story driven, cooking game? Well, it does look cute, and even if I don't end up playing it, my kids might like it! So, I will pick this up... as it looks like a really nice indie game!

Monster Roadtrip... Bah... another game that I picked up in a sale! The third installment in the Monster Prom series... I've yet to play the series from the start! Perhaps I should, it does look pretty quirkily funny! Or maybe my kids would like it?

Monster Roadtrip is the only one I recognise here, but I imagine the point of these monthly bundles are to expose you to games you haven't heard of at all. Its great value - but I have such a huge back log across Steam, Epic, my Switch, my PS4/5 collection, I'd be doubling up on titles for sure.

Oh... my backlog of shame is quite bad! But I figure that the occasional double up isn't too bad, I just have to stop buying things on Steam sales!
