The original [Ledger](https://shop.ledger.com/?referral_code=YKPEYFE46VWQG) Nano was a pretty useful tool for people who wanted to store and secure their own crypto... the concept of a hardware wallet was a huge step up from paper and brain-wallets which were pretty horrific in terms of usability... and security-wise, still not a great improvement. 

... if you are just storing and using Bitcoin and Ethereum, the original Nano S is still a great tool, and it is the cheapest of the [Ledger](https://shop.ledger.com/?referral_code=YKPEYFE46VWQG) lineup anyway. But there are more capable alternatives in the form of SafePal and other competitors. Of course, you have options like the Trezor as well, which will appeal to those who are more keen on the open-source nature of that project in comparison to the closed source [Ledger](https://shop.ledger.com/?referral_code=YKPEYFE46VWQG) implementation. 

But, to be perfectly honest, the original Nano S has been pretty dated for quite a few years now... and that was solved in part with the Nano X. However, not everyone was keen on the Bluetooth connectivity (not really a problem... just don't use it if you don't want it).... but the biggest sticking point was the fact that the newer X was a "premium" product that just cost a great deal more. And if you were looking for something that just had more memory space and a faster processor, well... it was just too much of a price jump to justify the slight boost in specs. 

... on the other hand, being able to use and install MORE than 3 blockchain apps on the [Ledger](https://shop.ledger.com/?referral_code=YKPEYFE46VWQG) WAS critical to not going completely crazy. So, like many others, I shelled out the extra for the extra convenience. 

More recently, [Ledger](https://shop.ledger.com/?referral_code=YKPEYFE46VWQG) has refreshed their lineup... launching a NFT-centric Ledger (of no interest to me...)... but really more importantly, releasing an UPDATED Nano S Plus. So, everything that the Nano S was... but with more memory and processing (and funky colours..). Essentially the real core functionality was updated to be more in line with the higher priced Nano X. 

... now, there is even less of an excuse to poorly secure your digital assets. A decent hardware wallet at a manageable price, that has been updated with current specs that make it ACTUALLY usable without going nuts!

My Nano S Plus arrived a week or so ago... there was a pretty long delay on the shipping time from the EU, but I wasn't in any hurry. I will provide a more in-depth review soon with a comparison between the three S, S-plus, and X. I suspect that the S-plus will be the sweet spot for pretty much most users!

It doesn't hurt that you can get a 20 USD rebate in BTC at the moment as well!

Congrats. I just studied Metaverse + nano ledger S or X a little. Think I get it. But alternatively I could make use my nephew who is on NFT 24/7 (to our families disbelief). No hurry.
