At that moment, a large part of my current graphic work aims at combining a few recurrent personal obsessions : 
<ul>
 	<li>graphite drawing</li>
 	<li>graphite drawing on wood</li>
 	<li>graphite drawing of intricated curves and lines... On wood</li>
 	<li>aaaaand finally : random painting washes over graphite-drawing-of-intricated-curves-and-lines-on-wood !</li>
</ul>

I call these my "Graphite Artifacts", the miniature ones, made on small tablets of MDF, around 13*18cm

I've already posted some of them in earlier posts, but only recently realized that they started to become some kind of thematic collection, which could be interesting to keep building.

**The ultimate goal for me is in succeeding at not destroying nor damaging too much the initial drawing spirit under the painting cover.**<br>
 **Acrylic blender** has been so far the best I've found at this role even if it has some flaws (too glossy, makes further graphite drawing harder after its application). There are a few ways to mitigate these, like adding a light translucid painting wash after it has dried.

But, enough talking !

Couloured pencils and gouache came in help here, graphite main dark lines were too dark against the couloured background.

That beast taught me how effective acrylic blender could be as protection for graphite drawing on hard supports. It both gives a good protective layer (a bit too glossy, though) and smoothens  pen strokes.

"Le Coeur" / "The Heart" <br>
One of my first attempts at colouring above graphite... Initially made on paper which has then been glued on the wooden tablet. This didn't work well. I had to go with heavier painting methods in order to hide damages :)

And... When you assemble multiple miniatures into a larger piece : you get an infinite maze of possibilities ! <br>

I prefer not to touch it for now : I need to finish my work, not to get stuck with neverending stuff.<br>

I don't even have any clue yet how I will put all these together... Do I need to say I'm also afraid to attempt any colouring effect on that ?
