The Church of the Lord Jesus has grown a lot in recent times. There is a growing number of people who profess the evangelical faith throughout the world. But, as the Bible itself warns us, where wheat grows, the weeds also grow.

Many new ones in the faith are quite sincere in the conversion of their lives: they thirst to read and to listen to the Word of God. They pray, they fast, they participate in several meetings during the week, they "do and they happen" as they say there.

Others, however, mature spiritually to a certain extent and accommodate themselves. They sit comfortably on the benches of the temples, awaiting the return of the Lord Jesus, without the slightest concern with those who perish, not even with their own edification.

There are also those who participate in a congregation as if they were in a club or a group of coexistence. Something completely human, forgetting that they are there exclusively to honor the name of God. Of course, in a congregation of people, there will always be human aspects, be it one's own coexistence, mutual help, among other social characteristics. But all this is secondary to the greater objective of a Church, which is to glorify the name of the Lord.

There are also, in the Christian milieu, those that apparently are a blessing in the lives of the people around them. They are extremely polite, friendly, always smiling before their brothers in Christ. However, when there is no other Christian nearby, these people are transformed. In secular environments, no one perceives that there exists a disciple of Christ if that person is truly one. They treat their co-workers with indifference, they do not care about their relatives, they do not even greet their neighbors ...

These statements may seem strange to you above, but unfortunately we have people like that in our churches. And they can be closer to us than we can imagine.

But, do we have to make a difference between the people around us? Or is it that these people are right, should we equal everyone? What does the Bible say about this?

The Word of God tells us clearly that we are the salt of the earth (Mt 5.13, Mk 9.50, Lk 14.34). A meal without seasoning remains without taste, does not attract the attention of the palate. The foods without salt remain indifferent to each other. This is the man who is not the salt of the earth. It becomes indifferent, equals common sense. Making the difference between unbelievers is, in addition to magnifying the name of Jesus, obeying an ordinance of his.
