I wonder what are the weirdest things people have had along their coffee. Yesterday, I had a coffee with @octocel, her aunt and cousin. We met them at the bakery by chance after we had just gone for a walk through the park. And before that, I had been at an uncomfortable meeting at work. Really weird stuff. I hope I do not have to attend another meeting with a parent to explain why their kid failed the course. But I do not think it is actually possible. That's the nature of the Teaching Life.

Anyways, after the long walk in the park and watching birds, trees, dogs and a lot of other things, we went back to the mall for coffee. I got us a big cookie to go with it. We were also treated to some chips. They were Cheese Ruffles. Those are some of my favorite flavors. Now they are even better. Le me tell you why.

It so happens that @octocel came with the idea of mixing the big cookie with the chips. The contras of sweet and savory, the cheese flavor and dulce de leche inside the cookie was a weird mix. But it works so well together. It's like one of those other weird things. You know like Doritos and Nutella. I cannot think about another combination, but I bet peanut butter and jelly can get into the list. Anyways the best part of combining these things together was having coffee to cleanse the palate and then have some more of the chips and cookies.

This makes me wonder if dulce de leche works well with anything that has cheese flavor. Or is it that the spreading this kind of sweet over cheese is a no-go? Who knows? I'm not trying my chances at these things. Not because I'm afraid they would work, but I would hate it if the combination does not work. Maybe having coffee around to cleanse the palate is the key to trying all of this.

The more we ate the chips, the more we enjoyed the combination. But it also meant drinking more coffee. I think the earthy flavors of coffee are the thing that melds everything together.

Have you tried anything like this with your coffee? I know some people put cheese in hot chocolate. But in this regard we do not deep anything in the coffee. I do not think chips go well dipped in coffee. They would get soggy. Also, salt only works in sweet coffee. There might be something there, but who knows. Maybe you can try it for me and then tell me about it. This is just conjecture. Please, do not try anything that might actually hurt your coffee-drinking experience. However, do give cheese chips and dulce de leche a chance.
