It's my father's birthday. This sentence alone should be enough to give you cringe thoughts about the kind of relationship we share. But let me illustrate. It isn't good at all. His with his father wasn't either. And I like to think this is the same thing that would've happened to him if his father would've stayed around. Regardless, it is what it is.

So, the days gets annoying because his sister has been meddling a lot. Sending texts and calling. It's no use with me. Those attempts of communication go to the ignored bin as the arrive.

If things are like this, why I am posting. Well, it's simple. Mom asked me to bake a cake and I like cooking. Like a lot! I made another attempt to make brownies and this time it seems I succeeded with measures and stuff. Also had some time to make a ganache to cover it as I forgot to chop nuts and add them to the mix. 😅

Anyway, this is a pseudo-rant because I couldn't care less about the festivities, but I couldn't leave out some appreciation to the cake. I mean it hasn't done anything wrong, am I right? Cake deserves a spotlight whenever it's good. So, here you have my cake for the day:
