<p>Hello, gamers! The world of Survival Horror today is quite vast, what used to be known as Survival Horror and whose genre was opened by Resident Evil, today is quite varied, we have classic Survival Horror, stealth, action, stealth action, among others. Today I want to make a sort of count of the games or sagas that have really scared me, not only scared me, but terrified me.

El mundo del Survival Horror hoy día es bastante basto, lo que antes se conocía como Survival Horror y cuyo género lo abrió Resident Evil, hoy es bastante variopinto, tenemos Survival Horror clásico, sigiloso, acción, acción sigilo, entre otros. Hoy quiero hacer una especie de recuento de los juegos o sagas que en verdad sí que me han no solo asustado, sino aterrorizado.</p></div>

<p> Let's start with my favourite saga par excellence, <em>Outlast</em>, a 2012 game by Red Barrels. This game gave a facelift to the genre, mixing stealth and action, completely removing the self-protection by means of weapons and giving us vulnerability as well as offering new mechanics through its night vision camera system, using it as a tool and at the same time an alternative resource for the progress of the adventure.</p></div>

>Vamos a iniciar con mi saga preferida por excelencia, <em>Outlast</em>, juego del año 2012 de la mano de Red Barrels. Este juego le dio un lavado de cara al género, mezclando sigilo y acción, quitándonos por completo la autoprotección por medio de armas y dotándonos de vulnerabilidad además de ofrecernos nuevas mecánicas mediante su sistema de cámara de visión nocturna, empleándolo como herramienta y a la vez recurso imperativo para el avance de la aventura.

<p> This game is so important to me because by the time it came out, I was a bit bored with the genre, no game had managed to scare me to those levels again. Outlast whether you're playing it or watching a gameplay, it's equally scary, each of its enemies or as its developers call them "variants" are so well crafted that even the ones that appear the least, cause terror. The atmosphere is so well done that it achieves a perfect immersion in the viewer or player making it a jewel of terror.</ p></div>

>Este juego es tan importante para mí ya que para cuando salió, yo tenía tiempo un poco aburrida con el género, ningún juego había conseguido asustarme a esos niveles otra vez. <em>Outlast</em>, estés jugándolo o viendo un gameplay, asusta de igual manera, cada uno de sus enemigos o como los llaman sus desarrolladores “variantes” están tan bien trabajados que hasta el que menos aparece, causa terror. La atmosfera está tan bien hecha que logra una inmersión perfecta en el espectador o jugador, haciendo que sea una joya del terror.

<p>In those days Survival Horror didn't have a lot of action, the most action there was in these games was to give a few shots so this title took a lot of criticism for not being considered part of the genre, more taking into account that we were coming from the third installment of the saga and which respected all the elements of the genre at that time. But why is it the favourite game of the saga now? Why is it the best and best selling installment of the saga? Because they adapted to the new mechanics, included it in their genre and made a perfect balance between Survival and action and gave us a new game with a facelift but still feeling like a vile resident.<p></div>

>Por  aquellos días el Survival Horror no llevaba mucha acción, la mayor acción que había en estos juegos era dar unos cuantos disparos, así que este título se llevó bastantes críticas por no ser considerado parte del género, más tomando en cuenta que veníamos de la tercera entrega de la saga y la cuál respetaba todos los elementos del género por aquella época. ¿Pero por qué es el juego preferido de la saga ahora? ¿Por qué es la mejor y más vendida entrega de la saga? Porque se adaptaron a las nuevas mecánicas, incluyéndola en su género e hicieron un balance perfecto entre el <em>Survival</em> y la acción y nos dieron una nueva entrega con un lavado de cara pero que seguía sintiéndose como residente vil.</>

<p> To this day the setting and atmosphere of this game is outdated (too much light even in the night areas) and is something we saw that the Remake will fix, however the artificial intelligence is still pretty good, putting us to sweat when it comes to hordes of infected and although today the dubbing gives more laughter than fear (I also hope they fix it in the remake) I remember when the game came out, if I was a little scared of the disturbing statements "I'll kill you" or "you can run but you can not hide". It's on this list because while today it amuses me more than it scares me, by the time the game came out I did feel panic when playing it and if I'm not mistaken this or game 3 were the first Survival Horror I played.</p></div>

>A día de hoy la ambientación y atmósfera de este juego quedó obsoleta (demasiada luz aún en las zonas nocturnas) y es algo que vimos que el <em>Remake</em> arreglará, sin embargo la inteligencia artificial sigue siendo bastante buena, poniéndonos a sudar cuando se trata de hordas de infectados, y aunque a día de hoy el doblaje da más risa que miedo (también espero que lo arreglen en el remake) recuerdo que cuando el juego salió, sí me asustaba un poco las declaraciones inquietantes “te voy a matar” o “puedes correr pero no te puedes esconder”. Está en esta lista porque si bien hoy me divierte más de lo que me asusta, para cuando salió el juego sí sentía pánico al jugarlo, y si no estoy mal este o el juego 3 fueron el primer Survival Horror que jugué.

<p> Of course it had to be on the list if it takes inspiration from Resident Evil. The Evil Within is for me a mix between Silent Hill, Resident Evil and something from Outlast (for the stealth) and being like that, how could I not be scared? I don't really like the story (it's a personal thing, I'm not saying it's bad) but the setting and execution as well as the design of the enemies is tremendous. In my personal case, my favourite game is the second one where if I'm not mistaken one of the enemies was the spectre of a woman that really terrified me.</p></div>

>Claro que tenía que estar en la lista si toma inspiración de Resident Evil. The Evil Within es para mí una mezcla entre Silent Hill, Resident Evil y algo de Outlast (por el sigilo) y siendo asi ¿Cómo no iba a asustarme? La historia no me gusta mucho (es ya algo personal, no digo que sea mala) pero la ambientación y ejecución además del diseño de sus enemigos es tremendo. En mi caso personal, mi entrega preferida es la segunda donde, sino estoy mal uno de los enemigos era el espectro de una mujer que en verdad me aterrorizaba.

<p> And to close with a flourish, I had to put Silent Hill on the list. In my case exactly the second game and I know that most of you will agree with me. Almost all the games of this saga are very good but if we talk about atmosphere and terror in its purest form, we have to talk about this game. Moreover, one of the most emblematic enemies of the saga, the most terrifying and that made us spend terrifying moments is here and it is nothing more and nothing less than Piramid Head. 

>Y para cerrar con broche de oro, tenía que poner en la lista Silent Hill. En mi caso exactamente el segundo juego y sé que la mayoría estará de acuerdo conmigo. Casi todas las entregas de esta saga son muy buenas, pero si hablamos de ambientación, atmósfera y terror en estado puro tenemos que hablar de este juego. Además uno de los enemigos más emblemáticos de la saga, más aterradores y que nos hizo pasar momentos aterradores está aquí, y es nada más y nada menos que <em>Piramid Head</em>.</p></div>

<p> This game is like Outlast, no matter how many times I play it, it will still generate the same level of panic and that's what you look for in a game of this genre, that it ages well and continues to get the job done over the years.</p></div>

>Este juego es como Outlast, no importa cuántas veces lo juegue, siempre me seguirá generando el mismo nivel de pánico, y es lo que se busca en un juego de este género, que envejezca bien y siga logrando su cometido a través de los años.
