<p>Today we are going to look at Military Engineering and Arms of, Leonardo. He had studied other engineers and he was working on his own engineering when he wrote and I quote:</p>

<p>1. &nbsp;I have sorts of bridges, very light and strong, and suitable to be carried very easily, with which to pursue and at times flee from the enemy, and of others, solid and indestructible by fire or assault, easy and convenient to transport and place in position. Also methods of blunting and destroying those of the enemy.</p>

<p>&nbsp;2. When a place is besieged I know how to cut off water from the trenches, and how to construct an infinite variety of bridges, &nbsp;mantlets, &nbsp;and scaling ladders, and other instruments pertaining to the said enterprise,</p>

<p>4. I have also types of mortars very convenient and easy to transport, with which to hurl small stones like a storm, with the smoke of these causing great terror to the enemy, and great loss and confusion</p>

<p>. 5. And if the engagement be at sea, I have many engines of kinds most efficient for offense and defense, and ships which will resist the fire of all the heaviest cannon, as well as powder end smoke.</p>

<p>&nbsp;7. Also, I will make covered chariots, safe and unassailable, which, when they enter among the enemy with their artillery, there is no body of men-at-arms so great but they will shatter it. And behind these, infantry will be able to follow quite unharmed and unhindered.</p>

<p>Leonado the genius explains his Military Engineering here better than anyone of us could explain. He sort of summarised his accomplishments in a way that most people can understand. I am stunned by everything that he accomplished in the 15th century as even today we are using some of his original inventions yet maybe we would never have reached this point , it was not for the way that Leonardo was able to think and communicate.</p>

I enjoyed reading through this article series @bigbear. 
I've read a little about Leonardo da Vinci, and the" Vitruvian Man" when I was learning about proportions in drawings. I didn't know about his engineering endeavors, but I think you're right. "He would have been a whale here on steemit in a week." very interesting man indeed.
