What I have learned about cripto so far

So you want a Lamborghini just buy a few hundred dollars worth of this magic coin and in a week it's going to the moon🚀🚀. Well I'm sure you have heard this one before or the world is ending bitcoin is going to $0. Well the truth is you probably aren't going to buy a Lamborghini next week and bitcoin isn't going to zero tomorrow ether. What the truth is cripto is still in its infancy and will continue to grow at an extraordinary rate but a lot of ICOs aren't going to make you rich over night. My best advice is do your homework if you read a great article here on steemit or see a great video on YouTube it may be a great tip but it may be someone who needs to unload the bunch of what ever coin they bought and hopes you and everyone else buys in and runs the price up

So I really got started in cripto in July. I had herd of bitcoin and even some alt coins as far back as 2011 but I never really looked into any of them. I know I wish I had started in 2009 but it wasn't in the cards. I am rather impetuous so when I do something I tend to jump in and figure it out as I go. Like many other newbies to cripto I had some delusional dreams that I was going to buy the next bitcoin and it was going to the moon also like a lot of newbies I didn't have a ton of money to invest so I put a few hundred dollars into bitcoin on Coinbase moved to polonex and started trading. I started out listening to people in the troll box on polonex mobile app and jumped in on some pumps. Unlike some newbies I got lucky and cashed out at a high point and thought I knew what I was doing so I reinvested all my profits and kept going believe it or not I actually doubled my initial investment in the first week but then I tried to continue that pattern and failed miserably. I got caught in the fear of missing out and bought high and then tried selling as what ever I bought was falling so I sold at a loss. This happened a few times and I realized that some of the coins I had sold just days ago at a loss were back up at what I bought in at or even higher. Then I read an article that layer it out for me you only lose if you sell when it's low and with the volatility of the market most coins at least the ones that make it on to the bigger exchanges tend to go up and down in patterns.

Since I'm no super investor and I have a regular job that keeps me away from the computer day trading just wasn't for me. I began to realize that if you diversify and hold you can sell when that coin is high and buy back in on the dips while I'm starting to learn to read charts I am smart enough to know I have a ton more to learn so I'm just happy when I can take a little profit and when I can buy back in lower. So while I haven't got my Lamborghini yet I have made a little profit and I'm learning and having some fun.

So if you are new to cripto the best advice I can give is do your homework. Invest in projects that you want to see succeed. Don't spend money you can't afford to spend and keep your expectations realistic. Don't get caught up in the hype and buy when things are high and don't get so scared when things drop that you sell at a huge loss. While it's not an in-depth analysis of the next million dollar coin hopefully it helps some newbies just getting into cripto.
