while enjoying a day so different than most recently, no wind, no drizzle, good temperature, there is a thought spinning through my head.
I find myself wondering if we are over the hump now.
April, has been this year and not for the first time, a mentally challenging month.
raining almost permanently that not only does not let me work making a living, but also, hardly allows for any outside job to be done here on the farm, while there is plenty of it where ever you look.

to make matters worse, there are the extra challenges thrown my way that take more time, energy and creativity on my behalf.
just the other day, out of the blue, it hailed. 
luckily it did not last much and was rather light, so no damages there.
on the following night, a frost, hopefully the last for the year, but it was enough to burn young Tomato, Pepper and Eggplants.
I did manage to cover and protect the Pecans, most of which show no damage at all.

in order to keep the balance, I look at the positive side of things. one of our Fuji Apples is flowering nicely and I am reminded of the true exponential abundance which nature provides us with.
good things come to those who wait, as the saying goes.
you might get 1 apple after 2 years, then 20 after 3 or 4 years, then hundreds, on a good year, or none on a bad one..

I check myself and am feeling grateful for today, a day in which I can finally get some stuff done before the rain returns tomorrow.
I take advantage and saw corn, pumpkin and spread many flower seeds out and about, hoping to expend on the growing biodiversity we already enjoy here on the farm.
there is so much beauty to take in in spring and it is everywhere you look, as a reminder that it is all worth it.

p.s. I am nursing a light headache due to the sun being extremely active the last few days.
