Why do post differ so much?

I have wrote a few post and i know some are ok and others may be a bit better. My question is why is there so much of a difference on what i make on each post. I guess you must hust have to get lucky and hope people upvote it more. The thing i dont get i have seen pist way worse then mine but yet they will have $400.00 im like wow how is that and i have a few good stories that make 0.01¢

I believe votes are only worth so much depending on how much steem power that voter has.  A newbie like me upvote this would be worth nothing.

It is the subjective opinion of large steem power holders as to whether your post is contributing more to the value of the project then the other thousands of posts they could potentially vote for each day. Whales, like everyone else, have a limited number of votes available to them each period.

The longer steemit is in operation, the more likely it is that voting power will become widely distributed.

Your best bet is probably to keep on posting and hope that voters think that you are contributing wothwhile content (in their subjective opinions).
