Today, I will be sharing the lovely outfit I made for my friend, well for awhile now, I have been making different outfits for him just to get improved in my sewing skill since I have made up my mind to go into men's outfit and he has been a great help to me by volunteering to give me his out for me to sew for him, I was really grateful for that and I must say this simple act of his has really made me improve in my sewing skill especially men's outfit.

Sometimes ago, I made a post on how I made an outfit of a straight skirt and three steps princess dart bustier blouse for my self for an event and my friend also got 4yards of the African print fabric for himself as well and like I made it known that since I started learning how to sew men's outfit, he has promised to be bringing his fabric for me to make for him and I'm so glad I have not disappointed him and I know I won't with this level I'm going. If you can remember, this is the one I made for myself.

With the 4yards African print fabric, I cut out the trousers by folding the 2 and I measured out the full length, the waist circumference plus 2" and after I measured the crouch, lap and hip circumference which was marked and cut out.

The front was placed on another folded fabric to cut out the back part of the trousers with additional 4" at the back for the elastic band and rope casing

For the side pocket, I cut out 7" on fold by 16" and sew it to the side front of the trousers.

The front and back were sewn together separately to have each leg for the left and right before sewing the crouch together

Sewing the two legs of trousers together with the crouch, I have a complete trouser with elastic band at the waist as well as rope.

I proceeded to the top of the outfit as I folded the fabric in 2 with the full length measurement of the top and on another folded fabric, I cut out the full length measurement plus 4" for the back shoulder slope as I placed the two together with the shoulder slant, with the back overlapping the front with ½" then I measured out the neckline, shoulder and waist measurement as well as the armhole circumference.

The placket for the front was cut out and sewn to the center front of the top, at the back, a facing was sewn to the back part for neat finishing, while the front and back were sewn together on the shoulder.

The sleeves were cut out and sewn to the armhole circumference and the sides with the side seam allowance and the hem was folded in.

Finally, this is the lovely outfit I made. I'm glad I've really improved with this.
