<p>I decided to finally dedicate a post explaining who I am, how I initially came across Steemit, and my experiences of the platform so far. I liked the idea of introducing myself in a kind of interview style format, so that’ll be the lay out of the post. If you have any more questions to add, then you’re more than welcome to ask them in the comment section below and I’ll make sure to answer them! &nbsp;</p>

<h2>Tell Us About Yourself&nbsp;</h2>
<p>Hello! My name is Bisade, I was originally born in Nigeria, but I moved over to the UK (England to be more specific) when I was a child. I just finished my second year of university, where I’m studying law. Law gets a pretty bad reputation for being a boring degree to study, but I’ve personally found it quite enjoyable so far. There are parts that are quite mundane, I can recall a time when I fell asleep during a contract law lecture and started to snore. My friend had to wake me up because the snores were so loud that the lecturer stopped teaching to try and identify the source of the melodic snoring. But, on the whole, it is a very engaging degree that equips you with some useful critical thinking skills. Interesting fact, Nigeria actually has one of the world’s highest rate of twin births in the world, and I am a number in that statistic. Funnily enough, my twin brother also attends the same university as myself, but he’s studying chemistry. &nbsp;See if you can spot me (I’m the better looking one :D). We were at a traditional Nigerian wedding when this picture was taken, hence the attire. &nbsp;</p>

<h2>What Do You Do In Your Free Time? &nbsp;</h2>
<p>I’m on a long summer break right now (4 months) so I have a lot free time on my hands. Ever since I discovered Steemit, a lot of my time is spent on the platform, reading posts and connecting with new people. I also try and stay healthy, so I make sure to go to the gym and go on runs in my area. I am also a really big fan of hiking. I recently went to the Lake District, located in Cumbria, England just to see the sites and hike up the mountains. If you’ve never been before, I highly recommend it, It’s a good location to just relax and unwind. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<h2>How Did You Discover Steemit? &nbsp;</h2>
<p>I actually only discovered Steemit because of my initial exposure to Ethereum. My twin brother had told me about the potential of Ethereum and had urged me to invest some money into it. At the time, I didn’t really understand Ethereum and the whole notion of blockchain technology, so I made a decision I still regret to this day, I passed up the opportunity to invest in the cryptocurrency at £8 per coin (Ouch!). I did eventually get in, but only when the price had hit £85 per coin. After missing out on the gains I could have made on Ethereum, I decided to take a look at other cryptocurrencies and see if any other coins had potential. That's how I came across Steem, and more specifically, the Steemit platform and the rest is, as they say, history.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>The Type Of Posts You Make Are Very Discursive And Always Center Around A Contentious Issue, Why is that?&nbsp;</h2>
<p>When I decided that I would become an author on the Steemit platform, I thought about what I wanted my brand to be about. I had seen some posts on the hot/trending section of Steemit, and it was very clear to me why they were as successful as they were. Popular posts, from my analysis, tended to have a niche and stick to it. Whether it be photography or philosophy, there was always a distinct identity to a lot of the popular posts. Then the inner law student took over at this point, and I thought it would be a good idea to have a very debate-style driven blog. I liked the idea of taking a contentious issue, breaking down both sides of the argument and then giving my own personal opinion on the topic, a liking most likely developed as a result of my degree. I also didn't see a lot of blogs with an idea like this, so I decided to try and fill that gap in the Steemit marketplace.</p>

<h2>What Has Your Experience On The Steemit Platform Been Like So Far?&nbsp;</h2>
<p>My experience so far has been extremely surprising. I knew it would take a while for me to get recognised as a prominent writer on the platform, so my <a href="https://steemit.com/life/@bisade/why-do-we-still-feel-so-lonely-in-a-globally-connected-world">first post </a>not doing that well in the first few hours I had posted it, did not deter me. I can’t remember how, but I was introduced to the <a href="https://steemit.com/minnowsupportproject/@minnowsupport/minnow-support-project-problem-statement-vision-statement-mission-statement-and-plan-to-help-you-grow-from-minnow-to-whale-with">Minnow Support Project</a>, I liked the concept of helping smaller users gain more traction on the platform so I immediately joined their discord channel. The support I received from the likes of <a href="https://steemit.com/@gmuxx">@gmuxx</a> and <a href="https://steemit.com/@tremendospercy">@tremendospercy</a> (go check out their blogs!) was truly amazing. The growth of my blog, in what I think is a short space of time, is most definitely owed to those two guys (thank you!). In short, my experience on the platform so far has been an overwhelmingly positive one. &nbsp;</p>

<h2>Do You Have Anything Else To Say? &nbsp;</h2>
<p>I just wanted to sincerely thank everyone that has helped me so far in my Steemit journey, the learning curve on this platform was scarily high, but with all your support, things are not looking so bad. I also wanted to say a huge thank you to my followers. You are the ones that appreciate my rambling posts and your positive feedback encourages me to push myself further in delivering the high quality content that you deserve. &nbsp;</p>
