	<p>Tron&#39;s main focus is on the entertainment industry. It was designed as a decentralized platform to provide content by combining peer-to-peer and blockchain technologies.</p>

	<p><a href="https://steem.io/">Steem</a> (STEEM) also has a focus on content. It was created in 2016 and has grown to be a popular currency for investors. This is largely due to it social media platform <a href="https://steemit.com/">Steemit</a>, which uses Steem to reward its users when they contribute to it.</p>

<p>Tron provides a peer-to-peer payment option for its users. However, its main focus is allowing its users to create applications, content, and websites without using centralized services. </p>

	<p>Similarly, Steem provides a decentralized peer-to-peer payment option for its holders. Like Tron, it does not just function as a digital currency. Steem also rewards its customers with its currency when they contribute on the Steemit platform.</p>

<p>According to CoinMarketCap, Tron has a total circulating supply of just over 65 billion, and a total supply of 100 billion.</p>

	<p>In comparison, Steem has a circulating supply of around 253 million and a total supply of just over 270 million.</p>

<p>Tron currently occupies a respectable 15th spot on the global coin ranking list. This is an impressive return considering its short existence.</p>

	<p>Tron&#39;s popularity could rise even further after the launch of <strong>Tron Main Net</strong> on <a href="https://medium.com/@Tronfoundation/trons-first-beta-version-exodus-will-be-launched-on-march-31-bee6095e59f1">March 31, 2018</a>. The new Tron network will move Tron away from Ethereum, and provide exciting new features such as cheap transactions and smart contracts.</p>

<p>While Steem is not ranked as highly, the popularity of Steemit has provided it with a community of users that continues to <a href="https://steemit.com/utopian-io/@ekonugraha/number-of-steem-user-accounts-by-country">grow globally</a>. <p>While not as popular as bitcoin, the public awareness around Tron is becoming hard to ignore.
