<h1>More Regulation Pressure But Positive</h1>

We all know that regulations are going to happen to crypto. There's no question about it. What we care about now is HOW those regulations will hit. While some countries outright ban crypto others are attempting to claim it as things it is not in order to tax it as much as possible.

#### 6 Months Ago

Just six months ago an executive order was signed that included research into crypto. This research was to have government agencies in the USA investigate crypto, how to framework it and the benefits or issues with having their own government currency called a CBDC.

During this time it seems like the SEC has become increasingly aggressive not only towards crypto but also in terms of filing tons of lawsuits at random and trying to declare crypto as something it is not in an attempt for them to be overseers of it. This aggressive nature has not been taken well by many people and rightfully so.

Congress is also looking into penalties for unlicensed money transmitting and amend the DOJ to be able to prosecute digital crimes in the jurisdiction where the victim of those crimes is found.

##### CBDC

Back on to the CBDC it feels like the government is pushing for a digital dollar however it will have zero ties with crypto. This currency would most likely be fully tracked at a higher standard than Fiat paper currencies are. The push seems to be moving in that direction but I have a strong feeling some type of alt coin or even something the likes of tether would find a way to tap into it and bring it into the crypto fold as a stable coin.

A lot of the final details we will be waiting for in Feb of 2023 and 6 months after that is set for the final final call. I suspect however they will move towards a digital dollar with no connection to crypto and then try and regulate crypto more heavily but realize that they can't as it becomes more decentralized and untraceable.

#### The Main Focus

The main focus of all of these places is what they claim as fraud. Lets be honest though the amount of fraud and illegal activity that takes place between FIAT currency and CRYPTO is night and day in which FIAT accounts for vast amounts of it and crypto very little.

I will agree however that things like hackers, money laundering etc should not be happening on crypto. I understand we all want a decentralized world but do we really? A decentralized world I personally feel would be over taken by bad actors on a scale we have yet to have seen. Thus some regulation is needed either government focused or we the crypto industry need to seriously find better ways for us to self regulate and mitigate risks of losing it all in DeFi platforms, rug pulls, scams etc.
