<h1>SPK/Ragnarok and Hive The Scoop</h1>

As many of you know in just a few hours Hive will be getting one of its first ever snapshots for an airdrop. This article will go over the details. While I don't have them all and there's been a lot of questions and still confusion about this airdrop I figured a post with the deets and others contributing to it would be key to the success of this all.

### The Snapshot
Hive is getting a single snapshot that will be happening in just over 11 hours from posting this. YOu can view the countdown on their site and scroll down a bit for it. http://spk.network/

Claiming is expected to happen via the application however there has been talk about claiming it on a website as well. The thing with this airdrop is you will have to claim it monthly and you have 30 days to claim it each time. If you do not claim it and 30 days have passed it will be added to a pool which is unknown how it will be used just yet I expect governance token holders will be able to vote how they see fit. This will go on for 12 months total. What I don't know yet is if month 1 starts right after the snapshot or if month one starts in February 2022. 

This snapshot will act as a two for one in which the same snapshot will be used for the Ragnarok game airdrop.

It's important to note that both of these platforms will be open sources so if you're a dev yourself you'll be able to use and configure it how you see fit launching your own community video or your own game which is pretty freakin cool THANK YOU! I expect this will help bring people into hive and start to develop more which is something that will help hive grow in value and users.

### SPK Network

The SPK network will have a total of 5 tokens to be used for the platform.

6 are shown here but one is Hive which I'm not counting in this case.

The airdrop for the SPK network will be for token #4 Larynx tokens. 

Personally for me I'm looking at running a video encoding node which is more about processing power and less about storage. From how CHIA network runs the constant read and write on a SSD drive destroys it and my thoughts (although they could be wrong) is that storage on a SSD might be a little rough. Besides that I'd like to also run a node for all other options Indexing node, validator node and content delivery network gateway.

<s>What I'm unclear on is what the Larynx tokens actully mine.</s> 
**UPDATE** After much searching I believe I found the answer to this. The LARYNX token then is being airdropped is used to mine SPEAK tokens. These SPEAK tokens are a governance token offers SP Stake Weighted Governance and Powering up replenishes BROCA balance continuously.
However now the next question is what this actully means --- LARYNX Miner Tokens are burned for mining alongside Network infrastructure provision by the Miner. The miners then get paid in SPEAK and BROCA. 
---- What is the network infrastructure provision? We need to both provide some type of service to the network plus use these LARYNX tokens in order to earn? Or simply burning the LARYNX token is enough?

 But the solid play seems to be more around the Speak token and SPK power which provides you with Broca tokens which are used for voting and I would guess curation rewards like we see on hive. The PPY token as also a bit forign to me and how that applies to everything else.

Again this is not to take a jab at anymore. If I'm confused I'm sure there are others confused about how it works and simple short cut answers are best. Not go watch this 3 hour AMA podcast.

### Ragnarok

I'm particularly excited for Ragnarok. I firmly believe gaming is one of the easiest ways to attract people to use a blockchain and for that blockchain to start building a solid base layer of activity and growth.

I wont go into heavy details here in this post instead you can follow them @ragnarok.game for those details and more as they come out. 

However in general what seems to be happening is there is a fixed supply of cards. These cards will be air dropped to hive holders. No more cards will be printed so the only way you can get them is off the marketplace from others who are willing to let them go. There is expected to be huge long form rewards to the game which should drive the value of cards up. These cards can be leveled up by playing the game and earning xp tokens to be applied to the cards thus making them more powerful and in theory more valuable.
