I'm more of a friend of Stellar Lumen.
But I have to admit that I own only very small amounts of both.
Currently it will show which is used and which not. Guess the market will bleed for the first time.
I hope not but I do not see much in the near future which could lead to a nuisance.

I have also heard that the banks are looking to use the Ripple platform rather than the cryptocurrency itself so I don’t see the demand prospects enough to overtake bitcoin.

I really don't see this happening anytime soon. Sure everything is possible in cryptos but Bitcoin will mentain it's number 1 spot for a long time in my opinion.
