Hello everyone, we're the Bitcoin Munich Meetup group.

We've been meeting up in various formats since summer 2011, so we're the oldest group in Munich in this space. In the beginning we organized ourselves via the bitcointalk forum. In 2013 we set up the meetup group, which surely brought us a lot of new faces.

Currently we organize an informal get-together stammtisch every first Wednesday of a month in a tavern and in a bar, and a workshop event usually every third Wednesday of a month where we have talks and discussions, with pizza and beer too, in a great location right in the center of Munich! The recent buzz around the Blockchain made this possible for us we guess. `;)`

Generally, our mission is first and foremost to educate newcomers (which pop up almost every time) about this whole topic, to support local startups and give them opportunity to present themselves, but also to not forget about the activist aspect and the roots of the cypherpunk movement. The startup culture in Munich is not like Berlin, it's a lot more conservative because of the prevalent big corporations here, so there will always be interesting challenges.

We not only focus on Bitcoin of course, we're also talking about all the other crypto-currencies and platforms!
