BitSpace is proud to announce that we have officially become Liberland’s representative office in Norway. In October this year, the inauguration ceremony took place, as President Vít Jedlička was visiting Norway to speak at the second annual conference CryptoFinance in Oslo.

*The evening before the CryptoFinance conference, we invited the speakers to our BitSpace office for the Liberland ceremony.*
Liberland now has representative offices in multiple countries, and President Jedlička expects to have opened up offices in most of the world’s countries within the next couple of years. Each new office is a step in the right direction towards establishing solid foreign relations.
Our ties with Jedlička go way back to [when BitSpace founders Manuel and Christian Lains met the Czech born libertarian on his visit to Norway in 2015.](https://steemit.com/steem/@clains/steem-bitshares-and-liberland) BitSpace members have later met several times with Jedlička, and most importantly during [Gran Canaria Business Week of 2017](https://slack-redir.net/link?url=https%3A%2F%2Fsteemit.com%2Fbitspace%2F%40bitspace%2Fbitspace-and-liberland-at-gran-canaria-business-week-2017), where Liberland and BitSpace were co-hosts.
Jedlička’s Norwegian “state visit” was the perfect occasion to combine with CryptoFinance 2017. Having opened the Norwegian representative office as well as hosted a Liberland Meet and Greet right before the conference, Vít went on the CryptoFinance stage and gave the audience a fascinating speech about what it is like to start your own country. He initially praised the conference as a “world-class blockchain event” before he went on to speak about his own political and philosophical background and about the status of the project.
You can watch the Liberland President’s entire speech in the video below, and hear Jedlička talk about
- How he found out about the unclaimed area on the Donau riverside
- How the piece of land has a very special legal status
- Why the country was founded on Thomas Jefferson’s birthday
- How a country can work with only the most basic governmental institutions in place
- How to “uberize” a country’s justice system
- The staggering number of people applying for citizenship and businesses wanting to Liberland-registered
- Liberland’s own beer and airplane company
- How Liberland’s budget was able to rapidly grow itself without having to increase taxes
- How taxation can be incentivized instead of forced
- Liberland’s architecture association and architecture competitions
- Liberland establishing diplomatic relations with more and more countries

President Jedlička also featured in a more informal talk on stage later that evening, at CryptoNight Live with host Alper Güler, talking about everything from the multiverse to how Liberland could end up playing a key role in the disputed area of Bir Tawil between Egypt and Sudan, to Liberland’s plan to be the first country launching their own ICO.

Additionally, Jedlička was interviewed on several podcasts. One of them was the Ivan-on-Tech educational YouTube channel by Ivan Liljeqvist, where they covered many of the same topics, such as how the Liberland ICO is going to work.
