On Saturday, may 19, the Altcoin cryptocurrency exchange.io will present a beta version of a decentralized platform for trading cryptocurrencies based on the Plasma technology developed by Vitalik Buterin and Joseph POON to solve the problem of scaling the Ethereum blockchain.

Plasma is a smart contract on the Ethereum network on which tokens are blocked to release them in the sidechain.

Representatives of the exchange argue that the use of sidechains will allow the platform to handle much more transactions.

The Plasma solution uses the Proof-of-Authority consensus algorithm, which assumes that the operator (the main node is Altcoin.io) will confirm transactions and then add them to blocks.

"Imagine the speed, simplicity and user interface of a centralized exchange together with the decentralized security settings — this is Altcoin.io, " the platform's blog says.

Earlier Altcoin.io unveiled the alpha version of the wallet Atomic Swap Wallet.
