The Japanese technology company GMO Internet Group will introduce blockchain into a new Internet Bank launched jointly with Aozora Bank. This is stated in the press release of the company.

GMO Internet will develop a new settlement system for GMO aozora Net Bank using distributed registry technology.

"Blockchain is a breakthrough for secure and fast payments, and financial services," the press release said.

It is also known that the Bank will work on the basis of artificial intelligence and the Internet of things.

In 2017, the Japanese conglomerate GMO Internet Group launched a platform for cryptocurrency trading. At the same time, representatives of the company said that they would pay part of the salary to their employees in bitcoins.

Also last year, GMO Internet Group rapidly broke into the mining industry. The technology company created B2, the first bitcoin miner to be fully developed in Japan.

It is known that in October the company will release 7-nanometer chips for bitcoin mining.
