On may 31 at 12:00 UTC, the beta version of the main Tron network was launched. The tenth cryptocurrency by market capitalization ($4 billion) leaves the Ethereum network for its own public blockchain called Odyssey 2.0. It is reported by CNN.

Before the network begins a full life, the developers will be engaged in setting up wallets and browsers.

# "The transition of the Tron Protocol to the main network will make it easier for developers to separate from Ethereum and open new doors to scaling, commercialization and accelerated access necessary for the development of global decentralized applications," said Tron founder Justin San.

From June 21 to 24, users will have to transfer their ERC-20 tokens to supporting crypto-exchange in order to receive an equivalent amount of TRX on the new network. The token transition will be completed June 25 — the date the developers have dubbed the "independence Day".
