As stated in the message of the Lithuanian company on Reddit, she has long thought about how to add support for Lightning Network, and today is pleased to announce that the Protocol is available in a test environment.

# "The Lightning Network is an important technological innovation in the bitcoin space. Despite the fact that LN is still at an early stage of development and is more suitable for technically advanced users, this is certainly the most anticipated upgrade of the network," said the representatives of CoinGate.

At the moment, there is an active testing of the Protocol capabilities and invites everyone to buy a virtual Cup of coffee in the test shop. At the same time, the company is preparing a pilot integration of LN in a live environment with the participation of a group of merchants who will wish to join this process.

At the same time, the CoinGate representatives emphasize that in the course of testing the Protocol, bugs and errors are quite possible, but it is in order to get the necessary feedback and eliminate them before launching the implementation into the main network, and today's announcement is made.

In March, Coingate signed a partnership agreement with the Prestashop e-Commerce application, thanks to which more than 80 thousand European stores were able to accept bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies for payment.
