Researchers at the Centre for the development of information technology industry of China (CCID) has published the second edition of a rating of the cryptocurrency. EOS this time is the first place, bitcoin — only the 17th, according to Bitcoinist.

As you can see, if in may Ethereum held a leading position, now the second largest cryptocurrency by capitalization is on the second line of the rating. It is followed by NEO and Stellar. Also in the top ten included "old" BitShares and Ripple.

""Digital silver" (Litecoin) is on the 24th place, "super-anonymous" cryptocurrencies Monero and ZCash — 13th and 27th respectively. Close the rating of 30 crypto-currencies Bitcoin Cash, Secret and NEM.

The CCID website says that the research team consists of"top-notch scientists and experts." The purpose of their work is "to assess the technological capabilities, usefulness of applications, as well as the level of innovative development of blockchain projects".

Despite the lofty words addressed to Chinese researchers, almost nothing is known about the methodology of the rating.

We will remind, recently the arbiter of EOS cryptocurrency ordered to freeze 27 accounts without any explanations. A few days earlier, seven more suspicious EOS accounts were frozen, which caused criticism from the community and a wide discussion about the compliance of such actions with the principles of decentralization and immutability of the blockchain.
