**Dear Single brothers approaching ladies,**

This is your first opportunity to make a personal impression, and it might mean the difference between her paying attention to you and walking away without giving you another chance. While you don't have to go overboard, you **DO NOT** want to approach a lady while dressed in unkempt or rough clothing. Additionally, you want to make sure that you don't smell when you arrive (either body or mouth).

Before you approach her, prepare your lines of communication, but please don't ram them down her throat. You never know how the conversation will turn out. Be assured when you speak (this will feed from the earlier point of first having a general idea of what you want to say). You want to ask her to be in a relationship or get married, and that is a big matter—look at her! You can't look assured or effectively communicate your point by looking down at the floor or away. If you still don't want to look at her, perhaps even because of your self-assurance, at least cast a general glance her way.

Take it easy on the arrogance; nobody likes that (well, except you are approaching someone who is after wealth). Even so, avoid using the "my father is this, I own that" argumentative strategy. Recognize that you are only approaching her, and treat her with respect at all times. You can't possibly be citing her physical characteristics as one of the reasons you like her (even if that is a strong point).

No, you are not doing her a favor by approaching her, there aren't many fish in the river, and the Lord most certainly did not tell you that she is your wife (even if you think this, don't use it as a selling point). Strike a balance between being polite and making your point. So, for instance, don't immediately approach her and declare, "I want to marry you," and then anticipate success. You must enhance the conversation a little.

If she doesn't seem amused by your first attempt, please stop and don't undo your own moves with dry and bad jokes. A good sense of humor is good. Know how to keep the discussion going and when it has come to an end; there is no need for an uncomfortable protracted pause.

Don't be in her face when you chat, and don't stand too far away because she has trouble hearing you. If she can't hear what you have to say, what good is it? Pay attention to your tendency to spit, and try to calm yourself down.  Be prepared to patiently respond to her inquiries, some of which may be challenging.

Finally. Remember that this is only your first attempt; be patient with her and give her some time to consider your proposal. She deserves time to decide whether or not to choose you as it took you time to get to that point.
