*The Angelic Warrior Paladin waved his arm. Cracks in their armor closed up and wounds began to heal*. ๐ผ๐ปโ๏ธ๐ฉธ
(Instead of the Scavo Firebolt, I've decided to write about Chanseus the Great. I've been renting this amazing card this week with great results!)
We've all read about the holy warriors known as Paladins. Unlike their peaceful cousins in the Church, these warriors don their armors and swords and charge forth as the Army of The Church to do battle. Wielding holy spells of healing and the weapons stained with blood of their enemies, these fearsome warriors are a sight to behold.
The theme for this week's challenge is whom I'd consider the Paladin Paramount, the Commander of the Paladins if there such a position. I present to you - **CHANSEUS THE GREAT** ! ๐ผ๐ปโ๏ธ๐ฉธ

*Somewhere in the distant sky, perhaps just out of an eagleโs sight, floats the mighty land mass known as Solaki. Solaki and its counterpart, Lunaki, have for nearly a thousand years escaped the awareness of the Splintral people, but soon the veil will be lifted. Among the most noble of the Solakari, the Sons of the Sun, is a distinctive Angel/Human hybrid known as Chanseus.*

There are several Summoners to be chosen from the Life Splinter, but CHANSEUS THE GREAT has got to be my favourite of them all.
Chanseus the Great is a Legendary card released during the Untamed expansion. It has definitely found it's place in many Life decks given its power and usefulness. It's effects on the battlefield are โ๏ธREPAIRโ๏ธ, ๐ฉธTRIAGE๐ฉธ, and ๐ผ๐ปRESURRECT๐ผ๐ป to all your units. It's summoning cost is, like most other Legendary Summoners, 7 ๐งชMANA๐งช.

The release of Untamed gave the Life splinter another Summoner in the form of Chanseus the Great. Now this is an amazing card which effectively combines the abilites of 3 cards into 1! Just from the most recent Chaos Legion for example, the โ๏ธREPAIRโ๏ธ, ๐ฉธTRIAGE๐ฉธ, and ๐ผ๐ปRESURRECT๐ผ๐ป abilities (at level 1 card levels) can ONLY be found on these 3 LEGENDARY cards! ๐คฏ๐ฑ Adelade Brightwing, Spirit Hoarder and River Hellondale.
Chanseus becomes a supercharged version of all THREE them and costs only 7 mana compared to their combined 17!!! This is definitely what I'd consider game changing! ๐ฑ๐ฑ๐ฑ

As a summoner, his stat growth is pretty much as standard as they come along. The higher the level of your summoner, the higher the level of Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary cards can be fielded. Of course, this is also subject to the limits of the League you play in. At the Diamond and Champions League levels, the full power of a maxed level Summoner can be unleashed with no limits! ๐ฑ

#
โ๏ธ๐กMy Battle Showcase๐กโ๏ธ

---
Let me present **TWO** battles I fought recently in which I used Chanseus the Great. My opponents used **Tarsa** from the **FIRE** splinter and **Kelya** from the **WATER** splinter respectively. I (obviously ๐) used the **LIFE** splinter.
(I'm showcasing 2 similar battles with completely different unit lineups to show that Chanseus is what makes this particular strategy work)
At first glance, it would seem like my opponent had an advantage.
- Both of them fielded far more units than I did.
- Would my tank be able to handle the onslaught then?
- A key part to this strategy is the NOXIOUS FUMES ruleset.
It wasn't game breaking and I wasn't overwhelmingly outmatched, but I was at a disadvantage across the board nonetheless. Would I be able to turn the tide of battle against such an opponent then? Victory or defeat would lie in the small details.
I would say that the Chanseus the Great was DEFINITELY the MVP of this match, having played it's role in turning the tide of battle. I went for a tank and heal strategy, with Chanseus and 1 more healer healing the team nonstop. I wasn't able to do much damage at all with my unit choices. However, since the Noxious Fumes ruleset was in effect, all I needed to do was outlast the opponent and let the poison do it's job. And in such a situation, Chanseus was the perfect fit and showed all his strengths. All these small bits would help turn the tide of battle in my favour, thus ensuring that the other units could eventually wear down the opponent until victory was achieved! ๐๐๐

**1st CARD SLOT**
Shieldbearer was used in the game VS Tarsa whilst Blinding Reflector was used in the game VS Kelya.
As you can see, both these cards are completely different in terms of mana costs and stats. However, they both have a decent amount of armour, which will be what is essential for the strategy to work.

**2nd CARD SLOT**
Venari Crystalsmmith and Divine Healer are used for the 2 battles respectively.
They have different mana costs and attack types BUT they're both healers. This will be another key component to the Chanseus strategy.

**3rd CARD SLOT**
The Spirit Hoarder was used in the slot for the battle against Tarsa simply because it had a higher mana allowance for the ruleset. The strategy will still work perfectly fine without this.

---
As you can see, both battles are against completely different opponents from different splinters. What is common in both is that the Noxious Fumes ruleset is in effect.
In both battles, both opponents used a healing tank as their main tank in the 1st slot. Cerberus and Xenith Monk respectively. These are both good choices for the Noxious Fumes ruleset, as the heal will somewhat negate the poison damage taken every turn.
The opponent from the Fire Splinter using Tarsa even had a Forgotten One in the backline. This is an extremely powerful hard hitting card which has immunity to all negative status effects, which includes poison. This is a massive advantage for the opponent as the card naturally counters Noxious Fumes.
Both opponents fielded teams with far more units, hoping to burn me down quickly with superior DPS. And they very nearly succeeded too!
The battle started out with all our units just duking it out pound for pound with the Main Tanks taking the bulk of the damage.
- As expected, the first waves of attacks brought my main tanks in both matches dangerously close to death. The Shieldbearer was even killed off at one point! ๐ฑ Here, we can see the powerful **RESURRECT** ability of Chanseus come into play as the Shieldbearer was revived to continue the fight.
- The opponents' Cerberus and Xenith Monk both did an admirable job tanking, especially with their **HEAL** ability. However, even though it took a really long time, my small bits of damage and the poison slowly chipped away at their health until they went down.
- My backline healers sat behind healing the Main Tank and whatever damage they took from Noxious Fumes was healed by another one of Chanseus's abilities - **TRIAGE**. This gave me unbeatable lasting power as the opponent's backline were slowly decimated by poison, whilst mine would take damage but get healed up again.
- This resulted in a defensive game on my part. Both battles showed how my main tanks absorbed the melee damage from my opponents primarily through their armour. Another showcase of Chanseus's **REPAIR** ability. This ensured the opponent would never ever break through no matter how low the Tanks' health got.
- Both of these long drawn out battles showed the lasting power of a Chanseus led team, as both opponents were slowly worn down through attrition during the course of battle.
Talk about doing WAY MORE than it was supposed to!!! ๐ฑ๐คฏ๐ฅณ All i expected was for Chanseus to possibly provide some support benefits to my team. However it ended up being a perfect counter against both my opponents for the Noxious Fumes ruleset!
Well as you can see here in these 2 GIFs of my battles, the results were pretty good! ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป
This was truly an eye opener! ๐๐
Slowly, but surely, I wore down the opponent's team and the match was won handily with ALL of my units still left standing. My team selection proved to be the edge I needed to eventually overpower my opponent. ๐ช๐ป

#
๐ฎ๐ฎ๐ฎHindsight is 20/20๐ฎ๐ฎ๐ฎ

Would I have done anything differently? ๐ค This might have seemed like a disadvantage at the start but I ended up winning handily. IF I had to use the same cards again, there would be no better lineup than what I had already used for the match. Any other combination MIGHT have resulted in a loss for me. I'm really satisfied with the results against such a worthy opponent. ๐๐ฅ

I definitely can appreciate Chanseus the Great and it's strengths. This is one of those cards which are very strong if surrounded with the proper team. The role it brings to the battlefield will give a player the edge in squeezing out every tiny advantage to get the win. ๐๐ป
