With advancements in technology, some certain side-effects also came along the way. I personally think **privacy is priceless** but many people just don't care about it unless their sensitive information is compromised.

**KRACK Attack** is trending news for cyber security. It is a kind of WIFI hack to eavesdrop on all your internet traffic. WPA2 is a security protocol built in most modems and routers used commercially in homes. It was somewhat considered a safe option before this attack.

**I'll try to explain the hack mechanism in easiest way possible.**
Whenever you connect to your home WIFI internet, you do it by entering password for your router. So after that, everything you do on internet is going through this router which includes sensitive information like passwords, bank details which may or may  not be in encrypted form. Now the hacker can exploit KRACK(Key Reinstallation Attacks) vulnerability and write some program to gain access to your WIFI password. After that, evedropping on your sensitive information becomes very simple, once the hacker is inside the home network.

Soon patches will be available to resolve this vulnerability but you can take some precautions to safeguard your privacy.

- Get yourself equipped with latest web protection tools
- In my opinion, you should not ever use Public WIFI, suppose if government is not spying on you for providing this free WIFI then some crooked hacker is definitely gonna exploit this situation
- You should lookout for HTTPS certificate when entering your credentials on any website
- VPN provides another layer of security for your sensitive information
