We live in a pretty crazy world now and I realize that this global integration is not only fostering an extremely rapid spread of a new virus everywhere. Information and news are even more rapidly spread, with the speed of thought but especially of the internet. I consider myself lucky to live, to be contemporary, with the greatest invention of the last century, the Internet. I don't want to enumerate the benefits it brings to the whole world, how it has become the promoter of the development and evolution of technology, and the future evolution of life on this earth. And yet... And yet... Seems like too much to me, it's like the sorcerer's apprentice has unleashed forces he can no longer control! He's accelerated our life too much, taken it to extremes. I never thought I'd think and say that! Especially in this post which has nothing to do with this topic. I can compare today's society, controlled and driven by the internet with a very developed, dynamic, and crowded big city. Now I realize that I miss a smaller, patriarchal, quiet city, as our life used to be. Maybe I'm too old and that's why I think that way, maybe the young ones, the ones who were born with a phone in their pocket, are very excited and content with life now. There were a few thoughts that came to me as I sat down to write about Friday's adventures, the day we go shopping, or we only remember the days when we went shopping. But not necessarily to buy! Today was that day of the month again...the day I'm a companion. I accompany the wife to the hairdresser, drop her off there and I run off to see my favorite park one more time. But that's later because this beautiful day started differently. With a visit to a store dear to my wife, namely Ikea. I was bored with it long ago! **IKEA** However, I did set my eyes on a group of teddy bears. I liked them. ![img_20211110_111531.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmZMw3n1qHePwTczNWWcc9pNQN4tHR2zhJRGQSiZ7dtr2K/img_20211110_111531.jpg) Ikea has an interesting and well-thought-out marketing concept. It's like an exhibition, where furniture and accessories are arranged just like in a house. This makes them much more attractive. When we visit Ikea we do it mostly to find new ideas for home furnishing. We, I mean I get ideas and the wife actually does the shopping. Chiat if we go with a budget made, it is always far exceeded. I try to go to this store as seldom as possible and this is where the pandemic has helped. Even though it seems unnatural, I think the pandemic has had some good effects on us. Now follows a short trip through Ikea. ![img_20211110_102913.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmXmzBdHD2qc6xrrCYkLokEydwUYogay1VcLREQvibKW5R/img_20211110_102913.jpg) ![img_20211110_103348.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmQXKfhRHca8tX1EmEeH8LuGbCNTzqFkJW9A8ez9KCJfGb/img_20211110_103348.jpg) ![img_20211110_103854.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmcTs8Mft6Zi25ZpjD8QoqtMJN2r6gu8docUE3GrhJ2vGj/img_20211110_103854.jpg) ![img_20211110_104624.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmbrxocM4uNwv5Zrq3yHnEUft3jL8kGaRUfwgTirpafRLb/img_20211110_104624.jpg) ![img_20211110_105021.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmZLLtqUvXR7onem6DdznrXDeBKNgeLHiEKcqEyx6nFavW/img_20211110_105021.jpg) ![img_20211110_111727.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmb2f3Lxb2Fqxw8YuoxbjMj6Z12fuxdYUoy3UjxbwJoXKZ/img_20211110_111727.jpg) ![img_20211110_111554.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmPu6Xbku4zuHzHgPxzFWeRieJrETJAm9YzFREng1CHXCB/img_20211110_111554.jpg) Different attractive arrangements, I found some ideas to change something at home. My wife found more than that, a few bed linens that I liked too but something else is in store for the future. Something harder. I think I'll have to change the kitchen countertop. Ikea knows how to make money, they know what their customers need. They know that after a tour of the store everyone needs at least a coffee. But many want even more. Like me. Something to eat! ![img_20211110_113732.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmbmXweVf23gvYBthygojGdeR8wfzo4oRYTPNLaNzK5gBK/img_20211110_113732.jpg) From the first floor of the shop, where the restaurant is, we have a view over the shopping complex. This is one of the largest in Bucharest. Baneasa shopping complex. ![img_20211110_113728.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmVsxRV51EHa4wtp5s7J4N5mEVbThZC2uDVFbhuL3M4wuE/img_20211110_113728.jpg) Hairdresser next. Away from Ikea, on the other side of town. Heavy traffic, how else can it be in Bucharest, one of the busiest cities in Europe. We also passed the monster in the center. The building that should have been a dictator's palace, even if he had called it, in his hypocrisy, the People's House. Now it is called the Palace of Parliament, other hypocrites, and it is still the second-largest building in the world after the Pentagon. Bigger than Cheops' pyramid! ![img_20211112_102652.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmRwwKn9J8BhfticNXDi82Tcw3XxXan3jzUaSDzzmUH9MZ/img_20211112_102652.jpg) Now I go back to the beginning of the post, I was saying something like this... Today was that day of the month again...the day I'm a companion. I accompany the wife to the hairdresser, drop her off there and I run off to see my favorite park one more time. For almost an hour I know the wife is busy and I know where she is. That reminds me of a joke... true. Actually, it's a question. *"Do you know what they call a woman who always knows where her husband is?... Widow!"* Every month I come to this place. Every time I rush to the park. At the end of exploring the park, I go to the nearby flower shop. Today I did the opposite. **My favorite flower shop** There are many flower shops in town. Most of them are well decorated but with expensive flowers. This is a small flower shop and with cheap flowers. Displayed directly in the street. The flower shop is at the end of this alley. ![img_20211112_111151.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmPofhQwCtGb4WLcBLVwvJ4V7rHnUiSaq6SejSPESfvvdM/img_20211112_111151.jpg) I like to leave my image reflected in its window. ![img_20211112_111241.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmSixAYdvBP9rgsgpQcfsQoyhQnPQ1TgG77JpmMKYa1W7Y/img_20211112_111241.jpg) Just a few flowers. The others... another time. ![img_20211112_111353.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmfAq8tmLxaMD1uLbhBfizRfqUdxYGR4fnmpFEhKiWC7mQ/img_20211112_111353.jpg) ![img_20211112_111434.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmYF6wD61C28vagQ93q7CSrosgspuDoytB929Ci58SMdTe/img_20211112_111434.jpg) I bought some roses that I want to plant in my yard and ran to the park. I was anxious, it's still my favorite park. The park reminds me of a fetish park of mine, which I saw in my youth in the movie Blow-up. A park I knew nothing about, I thought it was in London but didn't have confirmation. The confirmation and even the name of the park I got from @dswigle and I thank her again now. Maryon Park. My park in Bucharest is Circus Park! **Circus Park** ![img_20211112_113025_1_.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmTKzgGZWUk4PdrUQjtawGjwRDwmL5S7wNXMJpHijURUPN/img_20211112_113025_1_.jpg) ![img_20211112_113601.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmdYSpoUxnZTSfS5CvNKPpeb8qL1Kmfxk7FciY2qEJrWGw/img_20211112_113601.jpg) ![img_20211112_114618.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmfLoBd5wJAtcW1xGgnbqkr7hCULnXijG2jXA5eVazDHLy/img_20211112_114618.jpg) ![img_20211112_114652.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmePnhTuPDDTQSNJfv3jZQBMtDcFJTdkGgMXJ2EaFTGdPy/img_20211112_114652.jpg) I hope I have chosen a few images representative of the beauty of the park in autumn. Just a few images, the rest will come in another post. **The dog** I went to retrieve my wife, the same wife now with less hair on her head. By the time I got to the hairdresser, I saw a good, sad, faithful and obedient dog. Left loose in front of the shop, he didn't move from there waiting for his master. Incredible and remarkable! ![img_20211112_120139.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmdBwCMXfWMEZEJou5ov79YDJxUaNjKUvfTbH6FtcKouhM/img_20211112_120139.jpg) ![img_20211112_120206.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmZ1Ry8mrP7W2CTjbqMS7oURWp6y8K6Q1yTgtMVfKMiH3z/img_20211112_120206.jpg) I had four dogs, not all at once but one at a time. None of them listened to me. **The pastry shop** Just like I have my favorite flower shop in this part of town and my wife has a favorite pastry shop that she always buys from when she comes to the hairdresser. And here the pies are good and cheap. ![img_20211112_121207.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmaTMEuSpUe5DNNEZKRJmhCQUECPorWbiNuBxm5S9n73j8/img_20211112_121207.jpg) ![img_20211112_121214.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQme5A1durY5MqyM3XdT4NWMEZcuGZ2SKi1cWaqDaMxGe8y/img_20211112_121214.jpg) ![img_20211112_121226.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmW25q5aKg7rSV3qZ7sE8D9j7oPnYSdP36715JwXmMvbVG/img_20211112_121226.jpg) ![img_20211112_121514.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmVkFXqRJtKCidVZ9imqRNFppZe1V525A9eddxRh9FenxZ/img_20211112_121514.jpg) A few hours spent away from home for shopping and services that must pay. Glad I made it all acceptable on #marketfriday, as @dswigle wishes. I love it at home and after a few hours, I already miss it. But I found my way home! https://youtu.be/rKqLAVyRaXw This simple song, which sounds like a song made by children for children. Video made in 1982, so outdated, out of fashion. Jon Anderson miming playing that seemingly too-small guitar. Vangelis on the organ, some random guy who I can only say (I'm referring to what the video conveys to me) looks like the handsome Brian Ferry, top of the face, I didn't notice that until now. The audience is dancing so ridiculously, the whole thing looks amateurish. And yet, what a great song. I love it! Off to the house, where I have to plant roses. ![img_20211112_152941.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmSaJdyGpLPUBDqU4jhVyK4R6T1itHuURRRc5rCQeL8seT/img_20211112_152941.jpg) I was supposed to plant the roses but I put it off until Saturday. Instead, I made coffee and started preparing the post for the MarketFriday community. ![img_20211112_154021.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmRA7QysodBBHuSpi2Xd2e5WEduTq5kox5a9Fepaq5R9QG/img_20211112_154021.jpg) I almost forgot the flower, even though there have been a few flowers so far. The special closing flower, #alwaysaflower! ![img_20211112_112549.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmVYV75MPYN1ha5bt5eCeFVv52zcyV65bFCgqWSG1NVPVg/img_20211112_112549.jpg) It was a wonderfully beautiful Friday, I almost forgot about the pandemic. It was a day full of everything and I'm glad I had the opportunity to tell it so warm (i.e. fresh) that I won't forget it! ![xet.png](https://images.ecency.com/DQmPmrMM7VQKE1fahu7hTS1Y6N1T81YyWdYUmczFcSqauYs/xet.png) ##### [HiveBloPoMo](https://ecency.com/hive-134671/@traciyork/hive-blog-posting-month-aka-hiveblopomo-starts-november-1st-2021) - Day 12 *This is my attempt to post every day in November!* ![xet.png](https://images.ecency.com/DQmPmrMM7VQKE1fahu7hTS1Y6N1T81YyWdYUmczFcSqauYs/xet.png) ![every_picture.jpg](https://images.ecency.com/DQmcEKnf354R7Y3ZUbpr4RrS5gHMvdi6Y5PANATv7C7rJvk/every_picture.jpg) ![xet.png](https://images.ecency.com/DQmPmrMM7VQKE1fahu7hTS1Y6N1T81YyWdYUmczFcSqauYs/xet.png)

Oh, you have no idea about me and Ikea! I met her in Europe before she came to the US. It was a trap! You could only follow their trail and could not backtrack, but, follow it all the way to the end. I have to say that they do set up the rooms nicely to give you ideas, but, I have one close to where I live and have been there once. I went, I saw, and now I am good for a few years. Did I say that shopping is not a sport to me? I'm kidding. I am not a huge shopper, but, I enjoy it now and then. I know.... #MarketFriday, right? :) It gave me ideas just by looking at your pictures! Everyone loves to take a break and a snack at Ikea. I don't blame you and it will boost your energy for the rest of the day. I loved those little roses that you bought. They will surely look beautiful next spring in your garden. I will bet that you will have them growing three or four times their size in no time! So pretty too! Will they bloom all winter in the house? The dog was so well behaved! He has been trained by someone who knows what they are doing! Wow! I am impressed! I like Magda's bakery! Everything looks so good, it would be hard to choose! Hehe Widow! :) I'll find my way home was a delightful song. I liked it and had never heard it, but, I was humming long after it was done. Whew! I am tired already! You kept me out all day!! Thanks, Dan! That was fun! :) #MarketFriday has evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but, it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact of what is normal for where you live? These are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I can only hope this to be true. Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:

####
Rules of the Road to Join #MarketFriday!
1. Go to the market, or anywhere that you pay money for a service. Take pictures! Be creative! 2. Tell us a little bit about the market or the event. What brought you there? What did you buy? How much did it cost? 3. Post the picture(s) Of course, you should tell a little bit about the ones you post 4. Use the MarketFriday Community Platform to post #hive-196308 (this is not required, but appreciated) **5. Drop the link into the MarketFriday comment section so I can find it** 6. Following me and reblogging the post so more see it would be appreciated !! Not a rule, just appreciated, more vision for more views on your posts! **7. You must put #MarketFriday by @dswigle somewhere on your post. If you don't and someone reads it, there is nothing to tie #MarketFriday to that post.** 8. Please only one post each week. Believe it not, I run out of voting power if you put in many more than that. As always, please remember! #MarketFriday loves you! Upped and reposted

Thank you, Denise! I so enjoy your responses. This time I had special energy when I wrote for this #marketfriday, I mixed a lot of themes and couldn't stop writing. I wanted to celebrate the eclectic in you with more themes in one. I could have kept writing separately about each one but I had this energy to write a lot, as a kind of thanks to you for keeping us close to you. IKEA, the park, the flower shop could have been separate but I liked bringing them together. Thank you for giving me this energy.

I even kept it short for you, just to show you I could! :) It was such a fun post, I could have kept writing to you! I know exactly what you mean now with the eclectic nature of my posts. :) It feels right, even with you doing it, it was a fun post. Don't get me wrong, I like when you dive deep into something too.Have a great day, Dan! @bluemoon

Great Market Friday post, @bluemoon, including your commentary about the pace of life and the speed of information. It certainly isn't slowing down! I love IKEA. It's exactly the same here in the U.S., with beautifully arranged rooms that make you want to buy all the things and set it all up the same way at your house. And then you can sit down for a nice plate of salmon and go back for more shopping!

A great market Friday post, I like going to Ikea when I have something in particular i need, and not to often like once every couple of years is enough for me then I dont mind walking through it and seeing what they have, and of course no visit there is complete without grabbing their Meatballs and lingonberry sauce Denise will be happy to see some flowers :)
