With Steemit.Chat down for the time being... it leaves everyone without a good form of communication between other steemit users. So I decided to build a little application to fill that gap. Now this application I built is defiantly not going to replace steemit.chat, by any means, and it only supports direct messages (2 user chatrooms). However I did devise a way to verify that users on my app are the authentic owners of that username here on steemit (via simple transaction verification).

# About #
The application is pretty straight forward and simplistic. I borrowed the overall style and layout from the hack chat website but non of its chat application code (decided to build it out my own way for various reasons). I am still building some features out but I wanted to get it out there so that people could start using it and report any bugs.

# How To Create an Account #

To create an account you must verify ownership of the associated steemit username
Therefor in order to create an account do the following:

1. Enter your steemit username
2. Transfer any amount of STEEM or SBD to @blueorgy (whatever you think its worth ;) )
Important: Make sure to include this randomaly generated key in the memo field 
3. Then Click the button  to attempt verification.

Once verified your account will be activated and you will be given a random password (you can change this later)

# Login #

Via the homepage click ***Login*** and enter your username and password then  click ***Login***

# Main Interface #

Everything is mostly self explanatory but I will run through them quickly.

## Start New Chat ##
Find the form on the right side of the page.
Type in the username you'd like to chat with and hit ***Start***.
- You will be prompted via an alert if it was successful or NOT (with explanation)

## Change Password ##
Find the form on the right side of the page.
Enter in your current password - then your desired new password - hit ***Update***.
- You will be prompted via an alert if it was successful or NOT (with explanation)

## Open Chatroom ##
Click on the username to the right of the page.

## Delete Chatroom ##
Next to the username is a small "x" click this to delete the conversation.

# Chatrooms are organized by most recent message received at the top of the list. #

Thats pretty much it. I wasn't kidding about it being simplistic ;)
