Experiments for everyone to try right at home! : DIY lava lamp

<p>Now that it's December, here in South Africa some of us are on holiday and quite a lot of people stay home and don't go on vacation. There are so many things we can do that don't require a lot of money that we don't know about. Many things to learn about while having fun. In this post we are going to learn how to make a DIY lava lamp right at home!</p>
<p><strong>Things that you will need:</strong></p>
<ol>
  <li><strong>water</strong></li>
  <li><strong>cooking oil</strong></li>
  <li><strong>food colouring of your choice</strong></li>
  <li><strong>empty water bottle or mason jar if you want</strong></li>
  <li><strong>effervescent tablet</strong></li>
  <li><strong>flash light&nbsp;</strong></li>
</ol>
<ul>
  <li>The first thing you are going to need to do is add 1/3 of water to the bottle or mason jar then fill the rest of it with oil.&nbsp;</li>
  <li>Add several drops of the food colouring of your choice.&nbsp;</li>
  <li>Add the effervescent tablet</li>
</ul>
<p>Once you're done following the steps you can watch it all come together!&nbsp;Don't forget to use a flashlight to show it off! If you don't want to use a flashlight you can just add glow in the dark paint.</p>
<p>If you want to you can customize it. You can add stuff to it to make it look more interesting by adding things like glitter, sequins, beads or even orbeez.</p>
