<div class=text-justify>If there are two Mexican rock groups that marked my youth, those are Caifanes and Fobia. The first inspired me to start writing due to the style of its lyrics, all of them written by its vocalist Saúl Hernández, and the second I always liked because of its dark and playful style, both in its lyrics and in its music.</div>

<div class=text-justify>Last night, after dinner, I went to YouTube and among their suggestions was a live video of one of the darkest themes of Fobia: 'Pudriendo (Rotting)'. In this one they speak of someone who is dead of love for someone else and is rotting while alive, happy for what he has experienced and waiting to leave this plane of existence, metaphorically speaking of course.</div>

<div class=text-justify>While I was watching it I started to read the comments and I realized that it was one of many more new videos of the band, corresponding to a new album for its 30th anniversary recorded live at the Palacio de los Deportes, entitled 'Pastel (<i>Cake</i>)', so I made myself comfortable and got ready to see them all.</div>

<div class=text-justify>The album includes many songs from their first albums that I really did not think they would include in an album of this type, so the experience of seeing the concert was a true trip to the past for me, and I was able to verify once again that Fobia was ahead to its time. Their popularity increased after they met again a few years ago after a multi-year separation. The recognition that they had since they met again does not compare with the popularity they had before, and this continues despite the fact that all of its members have other projects apart from Fobia.</div>

<div class=text-justify>To be honest, their albums from this second period are not compared to those of the first, but they have achieved several hits with them and they do not live only from the glories of the past but they continue to accumulate successes. </div>

<div class=text-justify>From this second period one of the most outstanding themes is 'No eres yo (<i>You are not me</i>)', a hymn to the individuality and diversity of people, and an invitation to accept people as they are instead of trying to understand them, since as the chorus of the song: "no entiendes porque no eres yo (<i>you don't understand because you are not me</i>)", we can never fully understand people simply because we are not them.</div>

<div class=text-justify>Other themes that stand out from the concert, obviously from my point of view, both for their interpretation and for the memories they brought me are 'El Crucifijo (<i>The Crucifix</i>)', one of the darkest themes of Fobia, but ironically with a phrase of the most luminous for close the song: "y es que hemos muerto de amor pero el amor nunca mueres (<i>and we have died of love but  love never dies</i>)", and 'Veneno Vil (<i>Venom Vil</i>)' in which Jay de la Cueva, the band's multi-instrumental drummer, really shines.</div>
