Crypto Payment Start-Up Set To Offer ‘Lightning Fast’ Transactions

There is a good reason why so many people are testing the Lightning Network in a controlled environment. After several months of problems and doubts, it seems that she has finally made some progress. All this, in part, thanks to the hard work of the developers of Acinq.

Peter Todd and Lightning Network

Over the past few months, Peter Todd has experimented with the implementation of the Lightning Network for bitcoins. Despite the attractiveness of this solution, the technology is not ideal. In fact, Todd quite often reported "failures" in the Lightning network.

Criticism of the programming language of the scaling solution for bitcoins is quite interesting. The C language is quite common among application developers. For Todd, this appears to represent an inherent security risk. In addition, to other experts, the implementation of Lightning also did not come to its liking.

Peter Todd also expressed his opinion about the very protocol of the network, calling it "vulnerable to DdoS-attacks." However, he completely changed his mind about the Lightning Network, after the network showed significant progress.

Todd claims that in April he was able to successfully execute three small payments through Acinq wallet. All these transactions passed without delays or problems.

In particular, every payment made by him was completed instantly. This in itself shows that the Lightning Network is developing. Although this decision is still not perfect, everything is heading in the right direction. However, there are still reasons to be cautious when sending transactions, since most of the features are still in beta testing.
