_With each photograph, I'm getting closer to the archeological stuff. In this one, you can see a small info board and some benches, a sign that something important is near. If I continued along the path made for visitors, I'll be there in a minute_

_... so I spent more time walking and took a couple of photographs along the way, but I reached the seashore eventually, and after some more walking, a few more minutes or so ..._

_About fifty meters from that archeological site, there is this info center which is closed in autumn and winter, but you can still see and read some cool stuff displayed outdoors._

_The board shown in this photograph is all about the mosaics found in the remains of the villa. They were buried again for preservation, but there is a plan to display them under some resistant transparent plastic or something like that._

_Many buildings and artifacts were discovered underwater, in the shallow bay. The photographs on the board in the foreground of this photograph show some of that stuff. And that's it. Later I photographed some mushrooms. But that's another story._

Vizula is a small peninsula in the bay of Medulin. The bay is named after Medulin, my hometown, and the most significant settlement along the bay's coast. Vizula is very close to Medulin's harbor and has a long history of human settlements and activities. The archeological park is mainly focused on the period dominated by the Roman Empire when the buildings and the overall importance of the peninsula reached their peak. I visit this place often, but usually, the posts are more focused on nature. Mushrooms, insects, and stuff like that because although very important, the archeological remains aren't that attractive visually. The most interesting things are buried again after the discovery to be better preserved or brought to the archeological museum in Pula, the nearest city, and displayed there. Today, however, I took a short walk around that area and, among other things, photographed some of the archeological stuff. I also photographed some lichens and mushrooms, but you won't see those here. I saved them for tomorrow. They will appear in the Fungi Lovers community.
