--- No difference to anything the CCP said before. & yet, in the West, the usual suspects come out of the woodwork to claim that China now distances itself from Russia, now it will push Putin towards a ceasefire & soon peace will commence.
But reality looks a bit different:

--- China only cares about China. The Ukraine war is a nuisance, but not because Russia has violated Ukraine's sovereignty or because it's killing civilians for sport. Emperor Xi is annoyed that it takes so long, despite czar Putin's promises of a quick & 'clean' victory.

Another official, from the Ghulja City Municipal Emergency Response Station gave RFA the figure of 22 deaths, but declined to release more information.
A third official, from the Ghulja City Police Command Center, rejected accounts from social media that as many as 100 had died on that one day, and put the toll at “about 21 and 22.”"*
--- If even CCP officials admit to dozens of victims, we can be pretty sure that the real number is in the hundreds, if not thousands by now.

--- So, the view only changed because of Omicron, not because of the general political environment in China. Changes in the latter were actually quite obvious in at least the last 5 years for anyone who wanted to see.

--- Not necessarily that negative. After all, there is a great surplus of men in Chinese society. Having more of them die early may be the plan.

--- Got offered Chinese health insurance once. After I looked through the contract, I declined. Totally useless. If you get anything at all, it's just a very small part of what you actually have to pay. Which seems pretty normal for Chinese health insurance in general.

--- Pretty normal for such an event. Even in normal times you don't see a lot in the air above Beijing. I only ever noticed some helicopters, which were probably not private, anyway.

--- Not sure about that one. But crackdowns on migrant workers do happen in Beijing once in a while.

--- One of the great humanitarian achievements of the CCP: pressuring countries to deny asylum.
Not to mention the benevolent care they give these Chinese abroad: always have some Chinese agents near you, so that nothing ontowards happens to you.

--- So eine naive Soße mußte ja kommen. Die Aussagen des AM-Sprechers hat man aus China so schon seit Anfang des Überfalls im Februar gesehen. Da hat sich herzlich wenig verändert. Kaiser Xi mag ein wenig verärgert sein, weil Zar Putin ihm wohl einen schnellen Sieg versprochen hat, aber Rußland ist zu wertvoll für China, als daß Xi Putin jetzt fallen ließe.
